Note

Moving large projects may take some time to complete. When this happens, Todoist sends out a notification to let you know when the team project completes its journey to your My Projects workspace.

Limitations to moving team projects

Team projects contain valuable information that should be kept solely within the team. Here are several limitations to keep in mind before creating or moving team projects:

Move a project to a different team workspace

It’s not currently possible to move a project between team workspaces. This helps keep your project’s data safe, and ensures it stays with the team it was created for.

Move a team task to a personal project

It’s only possible to move an entire team project, along with all of its tasks, to your personal projects. Moving individual tasks out of a team project isn’t supported.

Non-admins: Move a team project

If you're not a team admin, and you try to transfer a team project to your personal projects, you'll see a notification to ask an admin to move the project for you.

The admin can move the project to their personal projects, subsequently share it with you, and then leave the project, if desired.
