Delete your account

If Todoist isn't the right tool for what you want to achieve, and you don't want to use it again in the future, you may choose to delete your account. Doing so will delete all your Todoist data, including tasks, projects, labels, filters, comments, files, etc.

Warning

If you delete your account, you will not be able to restore it or any data associated with the account.

Export your data

If you want a copy of your data for safekeeping, you have two choices depending on your needs:

  • For a basic copy of your project data, export your project as a CSV file. This will include all active tasks and their attributes, like labels, dates, priorities, and comments.
  • If you don't need all task attributes, use the Export to Google Sheets extension. It excludes labels, deadlines, comments, attachments, and reminders, but it allows you to include your project's completed tasks.

Delete your account

Once you've stored your data in a safe place, it's time to delete your account:

  1. Log in to Todoist at https://todoist.com.
  2. Click your avatar at the top-left.
  3. Select Settings. If you logged in using Google or your Apple ID, add a Todoist password first.
  4. Click Delete account.
  5. Enter your password.
  6. Click Delete account again to confirm. If you've set up two-factor authentication for your account, enter your authentication code to complete the process.

After deleting your Todoist account, you'll be redirected to the login page. If you've purchased a paid plan through direct billing, it will cancel automatically.

If you've signed up for Todoist Pro through the App Store or Google Play, cancel your Todoist plan in the respective store to prevent further charges.

If you uninstalled or deleted the Todoist app before following these steps, it's possible your Todoist account is still active. Make sure to log in to Todoist to check if you've deleted the account.
