Test experimental features in Todoist

Warning

Experimental features may be less stable than the features officially released to the public. This means the app may crash, or some features might not work properly. Make sure to contact us to provide feedback, bug reports, and suggestions. We appreciate your help! 

Turn on experimental features

  1. Click your avatar at the top-left.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Open the General tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Advanced section.
  5. Toggle Experimental features on.
  6. Click Update to confirm.

Experimental features automatically sync across all platforms. If you turn on experimental features for one device, they'll appear everywhere else you use Todoist.

If you're a developer and want to test the Todoist UI extensions, you'll find the documentation here. Make sure that you've turned on Experimental features for your account to start testing the UI extensions.

Turn off experimental features

Do you no longer want to test experimental features for Todoist? No problem! Here's how you can turn off experimental features:

  1. Click your avatar at the top-left.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Open the General tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Advanced section.
  5. Toggle Experimental features off.
  6. Click Update to confirm.

To subscribe (or unsubscribe), open the Todoist web or desktop app and follow these steps:

  1. Click your avatar at the top-left.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Open the Notifications tab.
  4. Scroll down to Account & update emails and toggle Experimentalist on or off.
  5. Click Update to confirm.
