IFTTT (If This Then That) lets you create powerful connections or "applets" between Todoist and various apps or services. With IFTTT, you can save your completed tasks in Google Sheets or create a new task automatically when a GitHub issue is assigned to you.
Quick tip
Set up the integration
- Open Todoist’s IFTTT Channel and activate it in your IFTTT account.
- Open an applet that you’d like to activate.
- Click the Connect toggle.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to create an IFTTT account.
- Click Save.
Use the integration
Link your Todoist account with over 200 different channels including Pocket, Evernote, Facebook, Slack, Twitter, Fitbit, and many more.
Quick tip
You can now choose tasks from specific sections as the applet triggers, as well as make the IFTTT integration add new tasks to your selected projects and sections.
Limitations with the integration
There are a few limitations to consider when using the IFTTT integration:
- Lack of support for recurring dates: IFTTT captures the new date, rather than the date as it was when the recurring task was completed. This would also happen if you complete a task before its scheduled date on a regular or recurring task.
- Slow sync: With the current IFTTT infrastructure, it may take a while for tasks and notes to sync with Todoist.
Remove the integration
- Log in to Todoist at https://todoist.com.
- Open the Integrations tab.
- Click the dismiss icon next to the IFTTT integration.
- Click OK to confirm.
