Add a Todoist calendar feed

See all your scheduled Todoist tasks inside your favorite calendar app.

When a Todoist calendar feed is added to the calendar:

  • Tasks in personal projects or shared projects where you're a collaborator will appear.
  • Tasks with a date but without a time will appear as all-day events.
  • Tasks with a date and time will appear as one-hour events.
  • Tasks with a date and task duration will appear as events with the same duration.

Add an account calendar feed

The account calendar feed syncs all tasks with a date, time, and task duration across all projects. In doing so, a new “Todoist” calendar is created automatically in your calendar app of choice. Here’s how to set it up:

Copy the account calendar feed

  1. Click your avatar at the top-left.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select the Integrations tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Calendar Subscription URL (iCal) section
  5. Click Copy link beside the calendar subscription URL.

It’s not possible to subscribe to a calendar feed using the Todoist mobile apps. Switch to the Todoist web or desktop apps, and follow the instructions to subscribe to a Todoist calendar feed first. The "Todoist" calendar will sync with your mobile calendar app as well.

Subscribe to the account calendar feed

After copying the calendar feed, here's how to subscribe to the feed depending on which calendar app you’d like to use:

Add a project calendar feed

  1. Open the project you want to view in your calendar.
  2. Click the three dots icon at the top-right.
  3. Select Project calendar feed.
  4. Click Copy link to copy the project calendar feed. If you need to refresh the feed, click Generate new feed first.
  1. Open Safari for iOS.
  2. Log in to your Todoist account at https://todoist.com
  3. Open the project you want to view in your calendar.
  4. Tap the three dots icon at the top-right.
  5. Select Project calendar feed.
  6. Tap Copy link to copy the project calendar feed. If you need to refresh the feed, tap Generate new feed first.
  7. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
  8. Scroll down and tap Mail > Accounts.
  9. Tap Add Account > Other.
  10. Select Add Subscribed Calendar and paste in the URL you copied earlier.
  11. Tap Next at the top-right.
  12. Rename the calendar if you like, then tap Save.

When you open the Apple Calendar app on your iOS device to view your available calendars, you'll now see the newly added iCal feed subscription in the Subscribed section of your calendar.

It's not possible to copy a project calendar feed using Todoist for Android; however, you can still copy the feed through the mobile web browser, and by following the instructions for the web or desktop apps.

About the refresh rate of your calendar feed

How often your calendar feed refreshes depends on the calendar app you use. Some calendar apps update as often as every 5 minutes, whereas others update only once per day.

Apple Calendar is the only app that lets you manually refresh your calendar feed. If you're using Apple Calendar for macOS, press + R. If you're using Apple Calendar for iOS, tap Calendars at the bottom of the screen. Then, pull down the screen to refresh the calendar.

If you've added tasks with recurring dates to the project, the Todoist calendar feed only shows the first seven occurrences of these tasks in your calendar. As you get through your week, the calendar feed displays the rest of the occurrences over time.

Turn off all calendar feeds

If you need to turn off all Todoist calendar feeds, issue a new API token:

  1. Log in to Todoist at https://todoist.com.
  2. Click your avatar at the top-left.
  3. Select Integrations.
  4. Select the Developer tab.
  5. Click Issue a new API token. You'll be logged out from all devices authorized to access the Todoist account.
