If you want to see all your upcoming tasks at a glance and quickly organize them in one place, try Upcoming view. You’ll be able to check on approaching deadlines, easily create or reschedule tasks to better fit your schedule, and review your plans for days, weeks or even months ahead.

Review your upcoming tasks

  1. In the sidebar, click Upcoming.
  2. Scroll through the list to see tasks scheduled for any day in the future.
  3. To quickly jump to any future date, click the current month's name in the top-left and select the month and date you need.
  4. View a different week by clicking the left and right-facing arrow buttons in the top-right (next to the Today button). Click any date of the week to see the tasks scheduled for that day.
  5. Click the Today button in the top-right to get back to today’s date.upcoming-view-anatomy.png

Quick tip

If you are a Pro or Business user, you will have access to the calendar layout option in your Upcoming view. When viewing the Upcoming view in calendar layout, you can decide for yourself whether you want to see all future occurrences of your recurring tasks in your calendar. Click View in the upper-right corner of Todoist, then toggle Future occurrences on or off.

Schedule or reschedule tasks

  1. In the sidebar, click Upcoming.
  2. Go to any date in the future by scrolling down the task list or using the week picker at the top.
  3. Click + Add task to create a task on a selected day.

To reschedule an existing task, simply drag and drop it to its new date, or hover over a task and click the calendar icon next to it to pick a new date there.

To quickly reschedule overdue tasks, click Reschedule at the top-right.

Quick tip

A “busy” dot icon under a date in the scheduler indicates that you have tasks scheduled on that day (at least one). Dates without the dot indicator are free of tasks.

Noteworthy

  • The Upcoming view lets you see and schedule tasks up to two years in the future.
  • Overdue tasks appear at the top of the task list for your review. Click Reschedule to select a new due date for these tasks.
  • There's no option in the scheduler to assign a task to any date in the past.
  • If a task has a recurring due date, and the list or board layout is applied, you'll only see the next recurrence of the task.
  • Due to technical limitations in both the Todoist for Android widget and on WearOS, the Upcoming view only shows the next 7 days and doesn’t include the week picker at the top.
