Change date vs. postpone
Right now, whenever I make changes to my calendar, I get docked karma points for postponing tasks. But wait, I didn't "put it off," I moved it to another day because something more important presented itself, because I have to wait on someone else's part of the project...whatever good reason I had.
If I wanted to postpone a task, as in push it back because I just don't want to do it, I could use the postpone button, and it SHOULD count against me as a bad thing.
If I need to make adjustments to my calendar and change a date, that should not affect karma.
Using Todoist has been incredibly helpful to me, and I find karma surprisingly motivating. I think it's great to be able to slap a date on everything--it makes it a lot more likely to get done. But feeling like that's set in stone or else isn't practical.
Hi Susan, changing a task to a later date will only cost you 1 Karma point - not that much if you consider how easy it is to earn Karma points.
While I sympathize with how frustrating it can be to wait for others that simply is a part of project management. A tough boss might argue that you should have accounted for that in the first place when you set the due dates ;-)
