Gmail Link back to Todoist Task and Auto Label
Hi there, just working out my workflow I think the following would add HUGE value and would be (or should be) fairly easy to do!
When you add an email as a task you can allow Todoist to Label it "in todoist" or something a user can choose. That email and or thread should then have an icon or link on it somewhere that will take the user to the task.
The reason this would be very useful is when some one replies to a mail you are waiting for you can see by the label it is in todoist as well as being able to quickly click on a link to go to the task?
What does everyone think?
Please clarify - you wold like to have a label within GMail on a mail that has been added to Todoist or a label in Todoist for every email you add?
Please note that you can add a label to every task incl. tasks that are created from emails and each task linked to a mail is clickable and forwards you to the linked message in GMail.
Hi David, I would like a label in gmail to say that mail as been added as a task, with a link on the mail / conversation thread back to the task.
Think about this scenario.
You send a mail, convert the sent mail as a task and tag in waiting (for a response) then a mail is received, if you have many of these how would you know that the task is now complete? If there is a lable you can A: see that this is in todoist as a task, B: if there is a link you can click the link and go and mark the task complete or move the deadline?
So basically bi directional links, not just from todoist to gmail.
Thank you very much for clarification, we'll see if such option is possible and if there's an API in Gmail that would allow our extension to change the mail's properties.
Great, there should be as with Active Inbox all notes can to be tied to mails. (other apps also do this)
PowerBot for Gmail / integration also does this... the mail will always show loaded into EN etc...
I am an AIB user, too, and trying get a flow for the both tools to work together.
Via Permissions, there is a way for the re-write of an email to occur.... I would gladly grant that permission ;)
