Hello,

This issue is already available. To set the default project that will be shown when you open Todoist, please go to the Settings (gear in top-right corner) -> General tab and choose the project from the "Start page" drop-down list.

Also, if you put the "Inbox" project to the top of your project list, each time you use the "Quick Add" feature (when not being within a different project), the first project on the list will be set as default.

Best regards,
David

It is near about my subject, but not equal.

For example:
I do somethink in project Other. At this moment I receive phone call and I need create new task.
If I press Cmd+Shift+A I create task in current project -in "Other", not in inbox. So I need check project in task every time, when I create task by quick task.

I got to used it in "The things" todo manager - simple add task in default Project - cool idea.

More then 90% Quick Add task I want put into "Inbox" for sort later.

I want for every time, when I task with "Quick Add" new task have "Inbox" project by default (I can change it during add if I need).

Just wanted to add a vote/bump this but specifically request it for Android

The 'add anywhere' feature makes it really easy to get new tasks into the system, but every task needs a second action to set the project otherwise the new task is rejected. I always set it to 'Inbox' so it's just an annoyance to have to do this every time.

David,

My InBox Project does not have the same bars to the left for reposition capability. At this time I don't care for it to be my default project when adding a new task. Following the directions you provided above, I don't see the option under the General Tab to change the default project. One more time - how do I change this new default?

Hello,

Unfortunately, it's not possible to move the Inbox to a different position. The purpose of this project is to be the default and from it, you can move your tasks to other projects anytime.

David

I dislike it - just saying. Much of my everyday "quick" volume is in one Project, and it has always been my default. For me this new feature just creates another step either way now. Either I have to put tasks there and then move them (no way). Or I have to become accustomed to selecting/changing the Project every single time I add a "quick" task. Not so "quick" anymore. For obvious reasons, it would be most helpful if this could at least be a feature that could be customized differently if one chooses. I see the potential for the Inbox project, but it simply won't work for everyone.

Thanks for your other responses - I will let you know of any continuing issues.

Thank you for your feedback. We will consider changing it in the future. You're seeing the Inbox project on your account because you participate in our iOS beta and since this project is available on the new iOS app we've had to enable it on your Todoist account already, but we may make some changes to it and how it works.

Best regards,
David

I'm looking for another to-do list app because the Inbox is getting in my way on every task, every time I use Todoist.

Hey, this is really annoying!

"Start page" is set to something else in settings ("Today"), yet I get Inbox everywhere as the default.

What's going on?

Hello Andy,

I can't reproduce this issue - the start page settings do influence the default start page on the web. On iOS that's not available yet and on Android, it depends on whether you've set it to sync across platforms (in the settings of our Android app) or preferred to use a separate start page for Android.

Best regards,
David

Apologies, I just use the mac app, and assumed everywhere would be seeing the same thing.

I can switch to the web app, no problem.

You guys are awesome! (Amazing support.)
