I often find that I want to leave myself notes that aren't neccesarily tasks: brainstorm ideas to think about later, phone numbers I need over the next couple days, etc.
Could you add a notepade/scratchpage feature (maybe in the left column under the project links) that would allow the user to just edit a text area?

For now, please note that there is a "task notes" feature available in Todoist Premium - it allows you to add notes to any task and see if and how many notes a task has next to the notes icon.
Furthermore, you can use headers not just to separate tasks, but to conveniently add additional information in a project. To do so, simply add an asterisk * in front of the task name ant it will not have a checkbox and won't be counted towards to total active task number within a project.
