Location based tasks

Please make location based tasks a feature in Todoist. It would be really nice if I could get a reminder when i reached a location I have a task related to.

Yes! If Todoist could remind me to do something when I am in the general vicinity of certain addresses - that would be great. Tags with associated addresses would also be great.

I vote for this. On Android, this could be done by writing a plugin for Locale and/or Tasker.

I believe this feature would be a game changer in setting Todoist apart from the gamut of other "to do" apps.

Please do this!!

I would also really like this. But the implementation needs some thinking about.

To avoid getting 32 reminders everytime you get to your office, I think location based reminders should be part of setting a reminder an a task. An additional option, so you could set a date time reminder and a location reminder.

You could say "remind me when I'm at this location after xx date time".

This would be very nice, but I agree with Matt, it has to be implemented in a way that makes really sense.

It should definitly be configurable (on/off per task) and maybe based on tags (like remind me on tasks with the tag "@shopping" in the near of a shopping mall). But it makes no sense to remind me for all tasks tagged with @home when I come home ;-)

A view or filter based on a location could be helpful (like show me all tasks tagged with @home when I'm at home or that ones tagged with @work when I'm at my office).

how about - when I'm at the office, I get presented with office based tasks on my home screen. global tasks are available too (make a call, text, etc..). Getting a notification should be optional. I don't need to be pinged everytime I show up to work that I have a task pending unless I want to.

+1 for this idea.
Checkmark for iOS is great at location-based reminders and this would be an awesome addition to Todoist.

I really like how unintrusive the (Adroid) mobile app is right now and I wouldn't want it to turn into a battery hog that is constantly reporting my location. If this feature were to be implemented a well thought out strategy such as described by Tom Stiefel and possibly partially delegated as indicated by JustIn would be very appreciated.

integration with Locale application would be ideal for me. I've already paid for it, used it, and like it.

Quintum, I believe Android (and iOS...) are both offering lower-power consuming APIs for location acquisition as a service - so Todoist wouldn't itself need to be pestering for location, but would register with a service that informs of location changes.

I'd like this, indeed.

Yes, please. I'm currently considering upgrading to Premium.
Location-based reminders will definitely get me to shell out the money.

This is definitely a needed feature for those like me on the go. The ability to add an address or a geofence around an address/location to a @tag or something similar would be great. Then things like shopping lists I could tag items based upon where I would pick them up from @hardware, @grocery, or @drugstore. Maybe even with the ability to add multiple locations to a tag so I could put my three most used drugstores on the @drugstore tags. This would be very useful for so many chores that are so often forgotten and could have been completed in a few moments while on the way somewhere else. @banking to make deposits. Lots of possibilites here. The only thing i'm aware of that does this currently is MLO (MyLifeOrganized) a absolutly fantastic todo list manager who's downside is that it is client based and only has a sync service to the phone app instead of having the flexibitly of the cloud.

Would be a really nice feature.

I've often tasks like e.g. "buy 20m cable type xy" with no specific due date.
it would be great if those tasks pops up if i would be at my favorite electronics store for the next time. (love)

I think this is the only feature where Todoist is behind other apps like, Pocket List, for example. It would make it just the PERFECT application.

+1 Yes, please add this feature to the roadmap. It would be great when I'm out and about to get a reminder to pick up dog food or paper towels.

count me as wanting this feature as well.  either standalone or as Tasker integration.  Really, this is the only way to truly have an online implementation of the GTD system.
