Thunderbird add-on for todoist
would like to have Thunderbird add-on for todoist (including offline mode as well), so I can do everything w/in one UI.
I wish, Amir, the co-founder of todoist, can update the original add-on, as on http://amix.dk/blog/viewEntry/19333
In addition to our already very wide variety of plugins, we will release a new plugin for Mozilla Thunderbird this week. Just as Todoist for Outlook, it will allow you to easily access your tasks with a Todoist sidebar and manage your inbox by adding email messages as tasks.
Todoist for Thunderbird will work on Windows, iOS and Linux. We will announce its release and hope you'll like it.
Hi David has the above been release? and will it be compatible with Postbox 3?
Try out our pre-release:
We are still fixing some bugs, but for most parts it should be fully functional and fully integrated with Thunderbird (for example, you can add Thunderbird emails as tasks).
Right now, this add-on in is in conflict with Contacts Sidebar add-on. I guess it is because they both use the same sidebar location. If one is enabled, the other can not be used.
I really want both. The Contacts Sidebar is important to manage the address book (w/ many users as well). If todoist add-on panel can be on the right side of the window, not left side of the window, it may help solve the conflict.
Sorry to come back to this feed but not sure where else to go? I have installed the Todoist add on to Thunderbird but nothing happens when clicking it? Does it work?
please tell me:
- Do you see the "TD" icon in Thunderbird?
- What operating system are you using?
- What version of Thunderbird are you using?
Hi David, yes I see the TD icon in Thunderbird
I am using Windows Vista Ultimate and the I have latest version of Thunderbird 12.0.1
please delete the Todoist plugin from Thunderbird, restart Thunderbird, add this version: https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/31207e7cdfcd465cdc8c6a0a3a926531/as/todoist_to_do_list_and_task_manager-2.6-tb.xpi and let us know if it works.
Hi David, we are a step closer now it creates a panel on the left with a header that says Todoist but no further, no log in request. Works fine on my Mac though? - the previous version
if you right-click within the panel, do you see a context menu saying: "Reload" and "Logout"? If you do, what happens if you click on each of these options?
Hi David thanks for all the effort but no nothing? Just a blank panel clicking in it does nothing?
the Thunderbird plugin uses Firefox to connect to Todoist and shares its setting. Could you please clear Firefox's cache and cookies. Also, in Firefox, go to Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> "Network" tab and make sure todoist.com is not on the list of pages storing offline data and on the "Privacy" tab select "Custom settings for history" and make sure all cookies are accepted incl. third-party cookies.
If this won't help, try to access Todoist through Firefox, log out and then open Thuinderbird with the plugin or, if you're logged out by default, try the contrary - log in through Firefox and without logging out, open Thunderbird.
Maybe some other add-on is in conflict w/ todoist add-on ? I see the exact same thing as you. In my case, it is Contacts Sidebar. I would see a blank panel unless I disable Contacts Sidebar add-on. Unfortunately for me, Contacts Sidebar add-on is a more important email feature.
Any other add-on in your Thunderbird also uses the left side panel ?
we've published an improved version of our Thunderbird app and would greatly appreciate if you could see if it works on your systems.
First, go to Thunderbird's add-ons menu and completely remove the current Todoist plugin (and restart TB). Then, go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/todoist-for-thunderbird-to-/ install this version and let us know:
- Do you see the TD button right after installation?
- Does clicking on it show the Todoist plugin bar?
The above URL results in "Not Found" error message for me, and searching for "Todoist" gives zero hits. Was the add-on removed for some reason?
yes, the plugin has been removed and is currently not available, but we will publish it again soon once we correct some bugs.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
thanks for clarifying!
Hi Todoist, I love your product. Now that you have Thunderbird support, is there any chance you could provide support for Postbox?
thank you for your suggestion,w e appreciate it and we may indeed consider Postbox support. You're welcome to add a separate request in the Votebox.
I love Todoist - and I use Thunderbird. I have installed the plugin. Does it have any of the same functionality as the gmail plugin or does it just allow it to be accessed inside Thunderbird?
all our plugins are based on the Todoist Mini site http://todoist.com/?mini=1 and the only difference is the "Add email as task"/"Add website as task" option. The browser plugins for Chrome, Firefox and Todoist Anywhere allow you to add the website that you're browsing or a GMail message as a task.
The Outlook plugin allows you to add Outlook's messages as tasks and the Thunderbird plugin - emails from Thunderbird. Other than that, all other features are the same.
Dear David, I've installed Thunderbird and Lightening, and your Todoist looks fabulous. But even though I've installed the plugins, tried the suggestions above, I can't get it to work or seem to even see it in my Thunderbird or Lightning. Any suggestions?
Please go to Thunderbird's "Add-Ons" section to make sure that Todoist is listed there and activated. If it is, you should see either a TD logo button in the top bar or a small arrow icon in the top-right corner - clicking on it should open/hide the Todoist plugin pane.
It does not show on my thunderbird. On the add-on tab, the todoist add-on is activated. I restarted thunderbird several times.
I looked at the youtube vid, and it states that the icon is on the email-tab, next to 'quick filter'. However, on my thunderbird (17.0) it does not show.
I'm on a mac.
Please try to look for a small arrow icon in the top-right corner which should let you toggle the plugin on and off. If it's not there, right-click on the top toolbar and choose "Customize" and see if there is a TD icon that can be dragged onto the toolbar.
The 'right click' and look for the icon did work. Great work!
Please add postbox support!
