G

New priority colors are needed blue is not useful because of URL links. Suggest either highlighting the task (better) or orange.

I've seen this suggestion raised before, and I feel like red makes sense as the highest priority colour, followed by orange, then yellow, and then black for lowest priority. Others have suggested allowing the user to choose the colour, which I'm fine with as long as red, orange and yellow are included in the options. Yellow might be difficult to view under the present way of doing things in Todoist, but some task managers have overcome this by colouring the check-box instead of the title of the task itself. A colour-coded check box also minimizes visual distraction when looking at the task since it's smaller and doesn't compete with colours associated with labels, and URLs.

I'm reposting this here from another thread I reply to that's loosely similar to this post:

IMHO, changing the whole rating system by doing away with the concept of 'Priorities' would drastically improve ToDoist's usefulness.

Adopting a Gmail-esque system of tagging with the ability to edit the tag label and also it's color would definitely cause customers and competitors pause and take notice in the midst of the cut throat world of 'todo list apps'. Dead serious on that.

I have a personal loose 7-color system I use to represent the general importance of tasks. Instead of Green being/meaning 'Priority 3', to me, Green represents completed task (in case I want to keep it visible before I delete/archive it) and Yellow represents tasks that require my direct response to another person waiting for one. Orange *would* be for 'Awaiting Response' from another person.

Adding just 2 or 3 colors would be great!...

...more, and the ability to edit their labels would rock. Instead of 'Priority 1', red could be relabeled 'To Do Today!' or whatever to one's heart's content.

Just some thoughts on usability and usefulness from a long time user. =)
