I proposed the same thing, it would be awesome to have this added but not sure if they really take in consideration all of these suggestions?

Alternately, be able to expand/collapse all notes for a task underneath the task line.

+1
maybe just last note in bubble
or
getflow.com has nice popup for description

And I am for separate 1 field with description and endless number of notes.

I agree with Damlan. Recently moved from toodledo and that was a great feature that they had - easy to see or not see notes.

In Ipad app, the first line of the note was visible, discretely under the heading.

Todoist looks so great - one of the main reasons I am moving - but the note bubble is too black and too visible. It makes the task name hard to read/notice.

Yes that would be the best, don't open a new window, this always hampers the workflow.

Expand and collapse all notes and adjust the height up to a maximum, then with scroll bar. Including the "add note" field at the buttom.

Agree that this would be preferable. Current implementation, where notes open in a separate modal window that blocks access to the main task window, is cumbersome-- can't do anything else until you dismiss the notes window.

Better to be able to show/hide notes for a selected task in the main window. This would also be preferable, IMO, to the originally proposed hover solution, which would also mean you have to choose between looking at a note, and doing anything else.

This is important to me. I'd love to see this implemented.

I second the request for a hover view ability. I used getflow before switching to Todoist and really enjoyed the ability to hover over an icon to view notes. The fewer clicks the better.
