Allow attachments to be included in emailed tasks

U

Would save on having to go back to an email to find an attachment. I would be ok with the attachment being deleted x days after the task was completed.

I,too, have used this function in other web based task management programs and really found them useful. As I reviewed the task, I would also have the file I needed (eg, meeting agenda, last set of minutes, contract to be reviewed, etc). I was hoping that this would be an available option to Premium subscribers. While I appreciate the reasons for considering deleting these attachments after the completion of the task, I would prefer to retain them for archiving purposes.

Please include this feature..... This is in my opinion absolute must. Set the limit for attachments if needed.

This is the one feature keeping me from using Todoist. Currently I use Flow, which is good, but not as good or as reasonably priced as Todoist, only because it can accommodate attachments which for me are crucial.

As a new premium user I was shocked that the attachments did not follow with the emailed task. I didn't realize this was happening until I went to "here's the proposal" email that I forwarded to todoist and there was no attached proposal. I am also very surprised there is not more push for this feature. It's available in other systems........

I agree. I also found out the hard way that attachments weren't included in e-mails I sent to Projects. After sending the e-mails, I deleted them, thinking they were safely in ToDoist. It would be extremely convenient if attachments forward when sending e-mails to a Project.

+1 for this feature!

Since I can't install anything at work (no admin rights) I can't use the Outlook integration. Sending emails with attachments would solve that for me.

I can't believe this isn't getting more votes. Does someone have a work around? Attachments to an email that have information pertinent to a task are so so common......

I would like to see this feature. It will simplify the way I handle my tasks.

There is no reason for me why attachments from emails sent to a project are not getting attached to the automatic generated task.

For me this is an essentiell feature and attaching files is allowed for premium users! Please, add this feature as soon as possible!

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Yes, yes, and yes. This is the only must-have feature missing for premium users.

Yes from me too. Just switched to ToDoist after using other apps and this is by far the best for the way I work my GTD workflow. You guys have done a great job with this. Hands down, most all of the other tools I used integrated email attachments with the task creation (via email) process. Please add. Thanks!

Would love to see this implemented, as you now can add files to tasks (notes) via web app, mail attachment should do the same.

As of today, the lack of this feature is the only reason I'tm not going to premium. Most of my tasks are related to my emails and it's attachments.

This is something that is desperately needed, as it would optimize the task management capability of Todoist AND support an Inbox Zero system. Please consider adding this capability!

Thanks,
Steve

For those of you that use Gmail, a good "bridge the gap" solution is to use the new Gmail plugin / extension. Getting back to your original email with the attachment(s) works pretty well. This doesn't negate the need for native file attachments as part of the "email to create task" workflow, but helps fill a void for Gmail users in the interim.

Like all of us commenting, I look forward to this functionality being introduced.

I like to make quick voice notes on my phone, which I could then email in as an attachment to a task - if only you would support attachments on emails....

And to Colln's note, the same holds true for all of those voice mail messages we receive as .wav files in our email and want to turn into actionable tasks in Todoist....

Lots of needs out there for this!

i am also surprised this isnt getting more votes. For those of us forced to use a locked down outlook at work (no plug in allowed), this would allow for seamless integration

Urgently needed. Many similar tools support (multiple) email attachments. It's the one piece missing my workflow with Todoist to make it close to perfect. Maybe as a premium feature?

Yes, *urgently* needed. This is crazy that you can't do this. I'm a developer and I have written software to parse emails...trivial, really. All you need to do is parse, store in your cloud, and provide a link. Seriously, guys, this is way trivial!

Go look at getitdoneapp.com (along with other GTD apps) ...that lame app has it no problem, what's the problem?

The new email integration apps are nice, but they are poor substitute for this feature as you must be at your email client to use them. ;-)

I vote for this!

BTW, obviously, if you do this, you will rack up storage problems...an issue that most users here making this suggestion forget about. So, sure, charge for it...maybe give out a few gig free, then charge for space after that. I would pay for it no problem.

Hello,

This feature has now been implemented. If you send an email as a task to your project, if it has an attachment, the attachment will be uploaded and linked inside a task note.

It works with attachments that are smaller than 10 MB.

Best regards,
David
