I can't add to-do's from google apps gmail with the preview pane installed. When I toggle the view, the to-do from email works. Is there a fix for this?
Not at the moment. As you've observed, our plug-in doesn't work if Preview Pane is enabled. We hope to get around this in the future.
Product is great, but this is a real barrier for me. Anything you can do and I'll add you to my Christmas List :)
As a new Premium account, I am disappointed to see that this long over due feature is still missing. Please add this to the top of your Todoist Development List!
I absolutely love the product... And I'm hard to please.
You guys gotta get this done asap
Todoist is better in many ways that Any Do, but this is a deal breaker for me.
@clyde - would be nice to have todoist gmail plug-in work with preview pane turned on.
Can you add that feature to your todoist?
Right now, it actually works, to some extend, but only in Chrome.
@David, it's not working for me. I still do not see Add option.
The "TD Add" option won't show up, but you will see "Add email as task" either at the bottom of a project (next to "Add task") or in the "Quick Add" box.
Are you referring to the Chrome plug-in for TD? I do see that but I only see "Add Website as a task" and in which case, it's adding gmail URL, not the email URL.
I'm referring to the "Todoist for Gmail" plugin for Chrome, not the main browser plugin. The "Add website..." link should change to "Add email as task" when you open an email in Gmail.
@David, it seems that I can see Add option if I pop the email out as a separate window. However, somehow I never saw "Add Email as Task" in my gmail. I must be missing something here.
It's not in your Gmail. It's either at the bottom of the "Quick Add" box in Todoist or at the bottom of your task list inside a project in Todoist. It replaces the "Add website as task" link whenever the plugin sees that you're on the gmail.com domain and there is a link pointing to a specific opened email.
@David - is this todoist Website or window app you're referring to? I suppose you're referring to Website. I do not see "Add Email as Task" on it. Do I need to link my todoist account to my gmail account?
Again, thank you for your prompt response.
If you have installed the Gmail plugin, you should get the "Add TD" button within Gmail. Have you installed it yet? If not, try installing it from here: http://todoist.com/gmail
@Clyde - Add TD only shows up if (1) gmail preview pane is turned on (2) email is popped up in a separate window.
As per David above, I could not find "Add Email as Task" in either Todoist windows app or Website.
@Clyde & @David - I finally found the ToDo box you're referring. It's working now. Thanks!
I'm attaching a screenshot showing Gmail with Preview Pane on and our "Todoist for Gmail" plugin (in Chrome) showing the "Add email as task" link. You can see the same link if you click on the + icon at the top to show the "Quick Add" box.
Glad to hear that, I didn't saw your last reply before sending my previous post, sorry.
When using preview pane, I still get a simple "add website as a task"
Please see attached image. Any idea?
Unfortunately, although it has been working for a while, they (Gmail or the Preview Pane authors) must have changed something and it indeed doesn't work again :-( Sorry for the inconvenience.
I just signed up for todoist yesterday, and upgraded to premium today, primarily for the gmail integration.
I luv luv luv todoist and am excited to make 2015 more organized.
Even if it doesn't work, I'll probably still remain premium, but I must say this is the most important feature to me.
So, please keep it high on the priority list to get it working.
Any new on this issue?
I installed both the gmail plug in and the firefox extension. When using gmail in Firefox the todoist minimized window at the bottom of all messages never loads. Is this a problem with the firefox or the gmail plugin? I'm assuming it's the gmail plugin. 1. Any fixes? 2. How do I remove it from gmail in firefox? Thanks!
This is an issue with Google's new security settings which made it impossible to use such plugin in Firefox (only in Chrome). If Google (or Mozilla) make it possible at some point, our plugin may work again, but for now this can't be done :-(
You can remove it in Add-ons -> Extensions.
Thanks David! Got it. Winthrop
