Feature Request: Task duration/length time

It would be great if you could assign a certain time duration (= time to finish) to a certain task because some tasks just take more time to finish than others. Assigning task durations might greatly enhance the planning of a day because it would allow you, to a certain degree, to estimate the length of your day or workday. Anyone in for this, too?

Hi Pierre,

Great idea! Though we'll have to think of a way to add it without disrupting the current workflow and not make the whole experience complicated. We'll look into making it possible in the future.

Hi Clyde,

sure, something like <time/allow 5 m, 1.5 hrs etc.> which would display the total (estimated) time at the bottom of each day.

Perfect along with that would also be a small stopwatch button that you could press when actually starting to work on a task and once you're done. You could then continue to optimize you're estimated time to the time it actually took or takes you to complete tasks.

Probably nice for the "completed" section, too.

Keep it up!

Check out the script Beda created to do exactly this:

It works beautifully and does not interfere with the simplicity of Todoist at all. In fact, since it is simply based on text you add to the task line (or not), the feature would be invisible to users who chose not to use it.

I hope this feature will be added soon. It will help with time management.
