Lost changes

None of my changes since August 5th are showing up in my ToDoist. It's like the system somehow reverted to Aug 5th data. I seem to have lost all of my new tasks since them, dates are no longer set properly, and labels that I deleted this morning are now back in the interface. Please help as this is catastrophic.

Hi Jeff,

- You added all these on iOS?
- Were you offline at any point?
- Is the online version showing correct information?

Everything (online (chrome), iOS app, and ipad) seem to be showing the same
info now, which is not up to date. As best I can tell, my backups are all
exactly the same. I'm terrified right now.

I do not usually work offline, but I open and close my macbook often. Some
items added on ipad, some on iphone, some on iOS app. I do not use the
browser interface very often.

I hate to press, but can you give me any updates or at least let me know
what's being done? I live my life in this system and I've lost total track
of my daily tasks. please help.

There is almost no way to lose tasks. The only way for this to happen is to sign off while being offline, even then. So I am trying to figure out how its even possible.

I was going to suggest checking the backups, but as you said, they are not correct. Which makes it even more sense that you were offline.

Are you sure you never lost connection?

If you sign out of the web version, back in, does anything change?

I logged out and logged back in and it's still not correct. What I'm
trying to understand is why every one of my backup files would have the
exact same number of bytes. I have not checked each filein minute detail,
but they feel like they are all exactly the same. How can that possibly
be? I know for a fact that I've had internet connection almost 100% of the
time over the last week for sure.

I'm dying over here.

thanks for trying to help btw.

I would check the backups, and actually look into them. As the data size could be the same with many changes.

Though, that shouldn't be needed. I will continue to look into what could have happened otherwise, but its near impossible to lose information.

So you are using 2 iOS apps and Chrome? There is a major update coming soon to address better syncing, but losing tasks was never the issue.

I have noticed often that the sync bars continued to cycle even after I
would click the sync button (I did this to make sure and also to sync
iPad). Thinking about it, a large majority of my updates were probably put
into the iOS app. Not sure I that helps.

There are known issues with iOS and there is a major update coming soon. That being said, data shouldn't have been lost at all.

I apologize for the trouble.

For the last two days my updates/additions to tasks have not been sticking.

This is literally intolerable. I *need* the data I input into ToDoist to stick. If that can't happen, I need to leave. If I leave, my entire office of nine people, all premium users, leaves with me.

I've been dissatisfied with the lack of features in the past, but I've always been able to make this software work. This is the first time that it literally fails to work at a very basic level.

Basically, my updates stay until I sync (either manually, or automatically), and then the updates disappear. It acts like there is some master version out on the web that is enforcing that my local copy sync to it, even if that means throwing away all of my recent changes.

I am seriously scared to find out in the coming days how much of my work from the last two days has evaporated!

If I've moved to a new project or view before the sync, I might have lost stuff, and won't notice until I find out later that I blew some deadline because my updates didn't stick.

Can you sense the sick, sick feeling in the pit of my stomach right now?

Hi Nathan,

I've replied to the other thread that you've made and have some suggestions there. Can you please check it and let me know how it goes?

So sorry for the inconvenience. :-(
