Todoist not working on Windows

When I run todoist on Windows, I just get a blank window with a black background. No content. The outlook add-in also no longer works, it just has blank white space. I've tried uninstalling both the app and add-in and reinstalling multiple times. I can still access my todos from Android.

Hi,

Does either one work when the other is not installed?

That being said, un-install them from Add/Remove Programs, then in Windows Explorer search for Todoist & Doist and remove all that you find. Then download and re-install, making sure to use Run As Admin.

Tried that just now. I also used regedit to get rid of any "doist" references in addition to deleting everything in Explorer. Same result. Note that I noticed that the app is actually there, you just can't see it. I know because as I pass the mouse over the black window, the cursor changes to an insertion icon or a "click" icon at various places and, for example, I clicked somewhere and the title bar on the window changed.

Hello Bhyl,

Please tell me, do you have an AMD dedicated GPU and an Intel CPU with Intel Graphics? Based on past reports, such combination has caused this issue for some other users and we'll looking into fixing this. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have an AMD Radeon HD8750M and the CPU is an Intel I7-4600U

Same problem with my HP Envy Touchsmart 17" (M7-K010DX) / i7 / Windows 8.1. It installs but after finishing the installation and clicking the product icon, nothing happens. Have uninstalled and re-installed a couple of times already, run as administrator or no, still the same thing happens. Please help. Thanks.

Hi Zeyn,

So sorry to hear that you're running into problem with this. Can you please confirm if it launches even once? Do you get any error or warning prompts when you launch Todoist?

Also, if you open the Task Manager, do you see any process that's running for Todoist? Please let me know so we can help you better.

Hi Clyde,

Thanks for your answer. It does not launch anything. Even error messages, nothing.
On the Task Manager, every open program shows up except Todoist.

But I do see it in my Program Files, and the icon is on my Desktop once it is installed. The thing is, it just doesn't load when clicked. So I just resort to the online and/or mobile version.

Have you tried reinstalling it? If not, please try doing so and note any error that you might encountered.

Have tried installing it a lot of times already as I've said in my first inquiry. Still the same. Also tried it on the other laptop here. Still, it doesn't load.

Can you please get provide to us the log stored in the directory below so we can pass it to our developers?

Hi Zeyn,

Could you please check if the app has not been just minimized to the system tray? If you see it there (in the bottom right corner where the clock is), please right click on the icon > select "Configuration" and then set closing behaviour as "close".

Then try to launch the app once more! Let me know if it still doesn't work.
