Suggestion for a more efficient time picker

The currently used time picker is ok (as used by many current Android apps) but really not very efficient.

Maybe you could use the concept as used for example by Google Calendar.
I dont know whether they supply this as an API function already.
Please see attached screenshots.
On the first one you select the hour - extremely quick. And on the second as quickly the minute.
Third one shows a nice take on date selection.

Hello Marcel,

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it and will look into it. Please note that you can also enter dates and times manually so it you type "Heute um 12:30" into the date field it will also work :-)

Hi David,

thanks for the fast reply! :-)

I know that I can enter times via keyboard. Thanks. But you realize that on a mobile device without an actual keyboard my suggested option is by far quicker. ;-)

BTW: it seems to me that on the web version of Todoist there is no dialog for entering a time for a task. First I can select a date from the dialog, then I have to click twice into the date/time field, to be able to type there and then input something like " @hh:mm".

It would be nice here to have a time picker dialog as well, or at least the focus jumping right into the date/time field after selecting a date so I could enter the time via keyboard without the extra two clicks.

Best regards,

When it comes to speed, a standard date/time picker should actually be faster - it's on one screen, you can get any time you want and don't need to go through multiple screens step-by-step ;-) But we'll look into optimizing it in the future.

On the web (just like on mobile), the due date field is the place where you can enter times and you don't have to do this after adding the task. Simply hit the TAB key after typing the task's name and this will move you to the date field where you can just enter "today at 2pm".

your current date/time picker on Android is two screens. One for the date and one for the time.
The one for the date is basically ok. In my opinion designwise the Google one is slightly more pretty but thats a matter of taste finally ;-)

My actual point is the time! For example to set the time in your time picker it takes me multiple touches to scroll down the desired hour, then multiple touches again to select the minute.

In the Google version it is exactly ONE touch for the hour and another ONE touch for the second. After the first touch the dialog immediately switches to the second screen.
I think there is no argument that this is the fastest way to set any given time. Try it out yourself! ;-)

Anyway...thanks for the great support!
And BTW: I have used literally every major time/task mgt system in existence over the last 15 years and Todoist is BY FAR the best!!
So keep up the great work!

I for one HATE the "natural" date & time picker and would much prefer to select it from a list... For some reason the way I like to enter dates and times is not "natural" according to Todoist... they are never recognized and I alwys need to look up what format I need tot enter them :-(
