Font Size

It looks like it hasn't been mentioned in a while, but the font size for both the windows app and the Outlook plugin needs to be adjustable. It doesn't seem to respond to the font scaling in Windows 8.1, and on a high res screen (2600x1440) it's too WAY small to use for me. I simply can't use Todoist on my laptop.

Also, to be clear, I'm not looking for a native Windows 8.1 app. I use desktop mode.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi,

That looks like a totally different font. Do you have any extension in your browser relating to font/font management? Have you tried relaunching it? Did it help?

Spent 4 hours yesterday trying to fix the font problem. But no luck. Its very hard to read todoist panel. The problem is related to Chrome browser and is only on this particular installation. Other computers are not affected. Have tried re-isntalling everything, chrome, todoist, fonts - even rolled back windows. No luck.

Hello,

Unfortunately, this is something that we can't replicate so it's would be difficult to fix it on our end. :-(

One user did experience it but it was due to either a font he installed or a system font that he removed. Did you do anything similar recently?

I also wanted to echo the comments mentioned here. I would prefer to use the Todoist Windows App rather than having to use the browser version, but the Windows App's font is too tiny in Windows 8.1. Thank you for working on a solution to this!

Ditto - I love the concept of ToDoist, but the lack of adjustable fonts makes it almost unusable in Outlook or Windows 8.1 for high def screens. You folks thought of a lot of things, but how did you not see the need for adjustable font sizes?

Adjustable font sizes and types (I'd prefer Arial, believe it or not) would be fantastic. :-)

I want to add my 2 cents to this conversation. I'm in my early 70s and unfortunately my aging eyes don't work as well as they used to. It would certainly be helpful if the fonts in the Windows and Outlook apps were larger or adjustable. Frequently, I'm compelled to revert to the browser version to give my eyes a break. This isn't always convenience, since it doesn't allow me to access emails that have been added as tasks.

Guys, you NEED TO FIX this!
You have an awesome tool, but these kinds of things are pushing users away. Isn't it all about productivity? Not being able to read the tasks leads to lost productivity!
Can't afford that for too long .... Once my renewal for Premium will come up and it still won't be fixed (at least in Premium), I'm afraid I will have to switch!

Attention Todoist - Remember the Franklin Covey planner app. They owned the world for a while but continued to ignore customer requests. This opened the door for Todoist to take away their customers. Who is going to take away your customers if you continue to ignore customer problems. Especially problems like adding a font size or zoom option that are so easy to fix.

Same issue, though mine is that the fonts are too "big" !!! This needs to be configurable in all the apps - including the android app where everything is so big I can't get enough info on the screen. I have moved (or am in the process of moving) from Toodledo, mostly because I like Todoists "simpler" approach but it's too simple when everything is big and spaced out !!!

Cheers.

To all others, I suggest this workaround until Todoist fix their windows up, Mitch's software is direct port of the apps functionality.

Dear Galina,

Thank you very much. When I right-click on the TD icon in the system tray, no menu pops up. (I tried right-clicking on other icons in the system tray, and all the pop-up menus are working, so I know the computer is working fine.).

That said, the font size does seem to be larger. I restarted the Todoist app using the Todoist.exe in the beta and it seems to have automatically resized the text. The text is now the same size as when I use the web version in my Chrome browser. Thus, I am happy with the new text size, even though I am not able to see the right-click menu. For the final version, you might want to make sure that the right-click menu is working on Windows 8.1.

Thank you so much for your help!

Warmest Wishes,
Victoria

Hi Galina

The beta version for the desktop works as you have advised and is brilliant, totally saves this.

How do I get the outlook plugin to work that you have put a link to? I have downloaded it and run it, and if I look in the outlook COM Add-ins it is showing Outlook TodoistADX as running but can't see how to adjust the font.

If I can resolve this, then I'm totally sorted.

If you are already on the beta build, please look for the "Add to Todoist" button with the red TD logo in Outlook's top toolbar. In this version this button will have a small arrow below it and this arrow will open a new menu with a few options to configure proxies as well as set up font scaling :-)

Hi Galina

Spot on thank you.

Couldn't see the TD icon because my ribbon hides automatically so needed to click on 'home' to see it, but once I found it it was easy to do. Now Todoist is totally useable for me, all my text issues fixed.

I don't know what it takes to take something from Beta to Live, but I would recommend that you guys roll this out as soon as possible because it makes a huge difference.

One piece of feedback is that the TD icon on the ribbon is greyed out so I can't use it to add a task, however this is a none issue for me as I would do it within the side panel anyway, but just didn't know if you guys were aware of this and or expecting this to be functional, or if it was just there realistically to deliver the text sizing.

Thanks again.

Also, it only allows pre-set zoom values. I'd love to be able to manually set my own value above or below 100%.
