Possible to Edit Date in Completed Tasks??

Hi there,

I am new to todoist and have used many todo apps in the past. I really wish I could edit the date a task was completed. Often times I will not mark a task completed as soon as I get it done (especially if it was late at night) and I will mark it "complete" in the morning. I noticed that the Completed Tasks Metrics report will list the items as if I just completed them this morning, but that is not correct.

Any plans to enable users to edit at least the Date an item is completed???

PS. I am a dedicated user of TeuxDeux and currently have a paid account with them. Just thought I'd give this App a shot.

Hello Maria,

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, that's indeed not possible in Todoist and for now we have no plans to enable such option, but we may consider it for the future.

Best regards,

I just paid for ToDoist Premium and was hoping for better access to completed tasks by date. I echo exactly what Marie is requesting. I had a long day yesterday and did not have time to enter everything completed.

Also, in a project, you sometimes need to show an accurate timeline of accomplishments. Need the ability to change the completion date.

This is a much needed feature. For like Kirk I sometimes finish task late at night and as I am planning my day the next day update completed task that morning. This is particularly annoying when I have daily recurring task that get's marked completed the next day. The new entry for that take to be performed on that day does not show.

I would like to add my voice to the request for this feature to be added

Access and editing completed items is one of only complaints I have about Todoist. I wish I could edit completed items and turn them into re-occuring tasks, instead of re-typing the task when I've forgotten to do that before marking it as complete.

I would also like to see this feature. Thanks for considering

Recurring tasks can be based on the completed date of a previous task but we have no way of editing that date. We really need an option where we can click 'Completed On' and choose a date and time that something was done.

Maybe they could tell us how many +1s are necessary to "consider it for the future"...

I forgot to mark my task complete. Now I did not reach my daily 5 goals :-(

ditto. this is one of the many reasons I keep going back to paper -- then I go to digital again - then back to paper. as much as I love the technology I am constantly going back & forth; I am getting tired.

Same thing, here. I'm a relatively new user, and I've been frustrated that if I don't get something marked "done" today and click it the next morning, if it's a daily recurring task, it then schedules it not for later TODAY but for TOMORROW. I'd like more fine control of this. Sometimes it's just not possible or convenient to immediately mark something 'done.'

Indeed, I love the Karma feature, but it's kind of irrelevant if we aren't able to accurately reflect our level of productivity in hindsight.

Yeah same here I really want that feature, it comes with many other ToDo apps standard.

I agree with the above. This feature seems a lot more important than some of the other features Todoist already comes with.

This is unfortunate.

One of my chief problems in using "To Do" lists is that managing the list should not be something I have to stop and redirect my focus. Sometimes I get into a flow and when I’m done, I’m done. I’ll come back to check off completed items later, in one setting rather than multiple times throughout the day.

With offline tools like Excel, ListPro, or a simple outline, I can do this and enter whatever day/date I desire. However, with ToDoist, I’m utterly surprised I cannot.

This is an essential feature for me.

I was considering a pro account, but honestly, without getting a true picture over time of when my tasks were actually completed (not when I marked them done in batch), I may as well use my traditional list making tools.

I want the ability to alter the date of a task after I have completed it. I see from the above comments that there have been lots of other requests for this feature. Sometimes I engage in an activity that isn't on my list and would like to add it after the date completed, so it will give me a better idea of the steps needed to complete the project. I paid for premium, so I could have a history of a project. I really want the complete history.
