Great Suggestion: Checking Reward Sound

To create a new Habit (like Doing in Todoist). Sometimes our brain needs a little push, like rewards after doing a repited action. A tiny rush of dopamine that gives you pleasure and reinforces the value of the habit you just performed on a neurological level.

The act of checking a check box, has been proven to produce such a dopamine hit, which is why people like doing that so much. But it can be anything: little victory dance, piece of chocolate, listening to your victory playlist, patting yourself on the back. Just be sure it is something that you can do every time (i.e. not too expensive or involving illicit drugs).....

Why not enable a feature that plays a very short sound/song when crossing a checkbox at Todoist? That will align our brains to achive To Do goals at Todoist. Any neurologist around here to confirm this hypothesis? :(

Hi Jose,

It is an interesting idea that we may look into for future updates. It would of course be an option as many people would not want a sound to happen.

If users could define a custom sound, that might be cool too :)
