Family Plan

Can I purchase the premium for the family and have all 4 of us use it with 4 different accounts for one low yearly price? Or would that be different yearly payments?

Hi Bryan,

Unfortunately, we don't offer family discounts right now. You can however avail Todoist for Business as it allows you to pay in behalf of your family members so you don't need to pay it one at a time.

That is too bad this would be something that I could use with the Family for school projects, the family shopping list, school performances etc. Really too bad, you should consider rethinking the personal and family applications.

A family plan is something we are looking for as well!

Hi, I am also looking for a discounted family plan, for me, my wife and two teenagers. I can not afford paying 4 x $29/year.

Same here - Todoist would be well suited for families, but I can't afford $29/year for every person. A family plan would be much appreciated.

We've got a seven person family, agreed that a family plan would be GREAT. (Kids don't need all the same options as we grown-ups). Please consider it for a future release!

YES!!! Actually regretting my premium subscription now since I realize how limited my sharing ability is with family members on the free plan. Also, subscription pricing is terrible, and would rather pay 50 bucks for something once. It is very contrary to the app store's philosophy with family shared apps.

Family pricing would definitely bump todoist into my 'totally awesome, highly recommend for friends, family, coworkers, everyone on earth" app list. But at $28 apiece, my family will have to stay on the free version and keep looking for other competitive options.

I would get my entire family to sign up if there was some sort of family plan and prod my extended family into getting a plan as well. I think it would completely change how families run their homes. I love this app! The price for the entire family is outside of our financial reach. I'm sure if my kids were trained to use this app when they were living at home, they would continue to use it once they grew up and left. Thanks for all your work in creating an awesome app!

At least 20 people here waiting for a family plan; business plan is too much for us; I am not going to renew my Premium till a family plan is offered.

I also could use this. Why no feedback from staff on this? It seems a 6 minute management discussion at most; is ownership involved in the day to day simple decisions like this?

This thread is almost a year old... Is this like, too demanding of a concept to bring focus to and make a decision?

"You have less on your To-Do list if you get things done, complete tasks..."

I'll chime in as well. Seems like a great platform, but a discounted family plan seems like it would drive adoption tremendously.

Same here. I really want the additional features Todoist allows over iCloud Reminders but I can't justify the subscription costs for all four of my family members.

iCloud = functional but free
Todoist = Kicks butt... but $116 a year.

ToDoist staff... I know you guys are busy, but how hard is it to bring this up at your meetings, make a decision, and implement?

I sell software. I'd be all over an opportunity to satisfy the "I want to buy this, if you can arrange ___", as is expressed in this thread.

What is the excuse for inaction here?

Hi Frank,

We don't always respond because we don't have any news yet to share :-( This request is on our list to consider. I have now passed it once more to our team for discussion. As we have any update, we will definitely share.

Kick your team in the butt, Galina. This thread is almost a year old, on a simple concept of "yes or no" on doing a family plan for licensing. It's 2015, companies need to move fast on decisions, or everything stacks up. If this is on a list to consider, it's like the David Allen Getting Things Done aspect, "if you can do it in 2 minutes, just do it, don't set it aside for later". The decision makers should have a full minute left over, for this one...

Frank in Florida, I couldn't agree more. This is ridiculous. This is a no-brainer. We are not requesting a new app feature, we are requesting a change in plan offerings. I will be suspending my subscription if a family plan is not offered by the end of this year.

Agreed. It would have been more honest to say, "Nope, not gonna do this for a long while, at least not for a year" than this half promise to "consider".

Agree on the comments above. The subscription fees for using Todoist for all family members is currently too high, as you really need premium to collaborate. Todoist is one of the few task lists that really needs premium to get basic functions. It's also one of the best task lists in it's premium version so it's sad that I will have to explore other options as the task and project management app for our family.

Wunderlist integration with Outlook is coming (now that they're owned by Microsoft), and that's going to be free. Todoist will definitely have to up its game. And that should definitely include a family plan.

A family plan is probably in MOST cases driven by one main person (adult) and one secondary adult /parent that will contribute occasionally.
The two or more kids are just going to do/adhere to task lists. They might add something.

Can I suggest for a family package
Full price for primary person
50% for second Adult (second person)
20% for fist 2 children
then 10 % of price for following family members.

Limit the ability of children usage by preventing certain functionalists or number of list they can add per month to ensure there is a distinct difference between business / all full and the family package.

It is a little steeply priced for a family of four (with two kids 9 and 11)

I'm also interested in a family plan. My kids are on the verge of becoming cellphone users and I'd love to delegate tasks via Todoist.
