Notes or Comments?

What is the difference between 'notes' and 'comments'? I am not signed up with a paid account but I can add comments to certain tasks, but certain tasks only allow notes (which I cannot added as a free user). So help me understand the difference as they both seem to be the same thing.

Hi Murry,

Notes & Comments are basically the same thing. Notes are for tasks that are personal to you, if you share a project or join a shared project they become comments. In the end, they are exactly the same.

The only difference is that only comments are possible on free accounts, as we allow sharing for free accounts, but notes and file attachments are not free.

So one can share (as free user) a project with a fictive e-mail address and then use the note functionality aka comment functionality?

I just did that. To get the "get started" task accomplished I shared a project with myself (different e-mail address) and wondered why I had the ability to comment in this project but not in others.

Hello Patrick,

That's correct :-)
