Cannot add a reminder on the task's due date

S

I got to an existing task which is due on June 27th, then click on the clock icon to add a reminder.
I choose via mobile-push.
Then, when trying to add a date/time for the reminder, I tried all of the following and all gave me an "invalid date" error:
@10
@10am
10:00
10am
June 27 @10am
June 27 @10
June 27 @10am
June 27 at 10am
June 27 at 10
June 27 at 10:00

I went to the help section on Reminders and watched the video. The video showed that the 2nd combo-box from the top can be accessed but in my case it is disabled (grayed-out - see attachment).

The only thing that did work is when I typed "tomorrow at 10" or "today at 10" - but I need to reminder for June 27!

Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed as I purchased Todoist specifically for the Reminders options. :'-(

Please assist.

Hi Shahar,

Just type in the due date field the date and time that you want. For example, you can use "June 27 at 10:00". I tested this and it should work. Afterwards, you can then set the the reminders for it. See my attachments.

Regards,

Clyde

Sorry Clyde, that did not work for me. (see attachment)

Shahar,

That should indeed work, though try to use "june 27 at 10am" instead, does that one give you issues as well?

Brendon.

Thanks for the prompt reply, Brendon.
"june 27 at 10am" also gives an invalid date value.

Shahar,

Do you have another account? One that you can test adding dates like this. I believe there is an issue with your account, as all of these dates should work without issue.

Brendon.

Hi Brendon and sorry about the late reply.

I do not have another account, nor do I have time to create one, but note the following:

On the Web version:
I did notice that when I create new tasks with a date AND a time then everything works alright, yet when I take an existing task that had no time on it (only a date) and try to add a reminder then I encounter the issue.

Right now, the workaround for me is to edit the date on an existing task and add a time (in addition to just the date) and then I'm able to properly edit reminders.

On the Mobile version (Android), there's no problem with editing reminders.

Regards,
Shahar.

Shahar,

Thank you for the information but sadly I still can not reproduce it. I'd suggest signing out of the web version, and clearing the cache and offline data for it. As of now, I can enter this information for a task with just a date no problem.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hello,

I am having the same issue! I can add a reminder to a task when I add it from my phone, but it refuses to work in Chrome or Safari. I also cannot add a due date and/or due time by typing. I can only pick a date from the calendar by clicking on the date. I've cleared the cache, logged out of Todoist, reboot the computer, etc. No matter what I do I cannot add a date and time specific reminder or due date from a browser. The only thing that works is entering in this manual reminder "today at 9am". Using any specific date instead of "today" does not work, it always gives an "Invalid date" error.

Here is what I was doing specifically:

I created a task due on January 23 (by selecting the date from the calendar) and attempted to add a reminder manually (from the gear) by typing "jan 22 at 9am", but no dice. Tried several other formats and dates as well (every date between today's date and January 23rd) but nothing worked. Then I tried entering "jan 22 at 9am" from my phone and it works flawlessly! Must be an issue with the web app? Would it be account specific? What can I do as I mainly use the browser to organize my to do's and adding date and time information is pretty important.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Krista,

Please make sure that you have the correct date format selected in Todoist's settings (either DD/MM or MM/DD). If this won't help, please delete Todoist's offline data from your browser (manually, clearing the cache won't do).

David

Thanks! I changed the date from dd/mm to mm/dd and that seemed to work. Strange thing is before I changed this I had tried entering in the day before the month (and many other formats) but even that gave me an "Invalid date". I assume it has to be set to mm/dd in order for any typed dates and times to work at all?
