I can't install the Windows App

PB

I just purchased Premium yesterday. I closed out all of my programs per instructions. I keep getting the following error message:

Error occurred while trying to replace the existing file:
DeleteFile failed, Code 5
access is denied

If I click on "Ignore" another error message pops up.

Hello Peter,

Please check the system tray (bottom-right corner) incl. the arrow hiding other icons to make sure that Todoist is not running in the background.

Also, please tell me - you you have administrative rights on the computer you're installing it on, have used "Run as Administrator" on the installer and have not blocked access to the main folders (Program Files, Windows...)?

Best regards,
David

Todoist is running in the background and I am not the administrator. What do I need to ask the administrator to do?

Peter,

If it's running in the background, please right-click on the TD icon in the system tray, choose "Quit" and then try to uninstall and reinstall it (since, if it's running, it seems to be installed already).

Try this without admin rights and if it still fails, please point the administrator to the installer file and ask him if you're permitted to install it (your account may not have rights to install any apps?).

Best regards,
David
