App not syncing with web-version

M

Hello!

I've been using todoist with pleasure over the last few months, however since some days the app on my phone is not working anymore.

First it didn't update the changes I made from the web. Logging out and in fixed this problem, but it still didn't synchronize with the web version. The next day I tried to log out and in again, but this time it didn't update the tasks. I deleted the app from my phone and reinstalled it (version 5.1) but now I can't seem to log on at all! It's loading for ages and not showing my projects or tasks.

Please help me, because I use the app every day! I have no problem on the web version and outlook version. Only the app is not working. I have no taskkiller programm installed on my phone.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello Mariska,

Please tell me - how many tasks do you have on your account (approximately) and did you import large numbers of tasks lately or added tasks with extremely long names, notes, special characters?

Best regards,
David

I have about 60 tasks divided over different projects. Is that too much? And how long can a task-name be without causing any problems? I will check the names for long ones. I didn't use any strange characters apart from # for numbers.

Thanks for your help.

Mariska,

No, that is below the limit that we have, quite below. So that is not the issue. The long names can cause issues, though normally not with syncing. I would say more than 5 words varying length is fine, any amount "should" be fine really.

Please let me know your Android version and if you are rooted at all, or anything like that. I would suggest doing another re-install though. Un-install the app, head to the web version, (settings, top right gear icon) and under Reminders, remove any instances of this device, also Issue New API Token. Then after rebooting your device, re-install the app again.

Regards,
Brendon.
