Android widget needs improvement, might be a dealbreaker

MB

While I am very glad that there's an Android widget, it needs a lot of work in my opinion. I had hoped it would be more customizable and make better use of my screen space.

I just started using Todoist, after a long process of figuring out which task app to dive into. In the end, it was between Todoist and RTM. It was close, but I found that I liked the appearance and workflow on Todoist better, and I like the Mac app, so I went Premium and hoped I'd be all set.

Unfortunately, while Todoist is helping me be a lot more productive and efficient, the widget is seriously detracting from that experience in its current form. I love that it's so powerful, but it requires a whole homescreen to show enough information to be very useful. Even then, it doesn't display much, which for me is the main purpose it should serve. For the way I work, I'm sorry, but RTM's widgets have you beat at the moment.

I agree with the many folks who have said that they'd like to be able to use a smaller font in the widget, which is my main concern, and I will add my vote to that and other suggestions I agree with.

I don't want to switch, so I'm hoping that a revised widget is in the works and will be released soon. In the meantime, if anyone knows of a third-party widget that shows more, I'd appreciate any tips.

Thanks for making such a great app ecosystem, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Mike,

We are always improving things, but I can't say we are working on the widget right now. Though we are aware of people wanting more options for it. So it's very possible it will happen at some point.

I am sorry I can't give you more than that at this time.

Regards,
Brendon.

Thank you very much for your prompt and candid response, Brendon. I'm going to see what I can do to make the widget work for me.
