This has happened to me a few times since I started using Todoist a few weeks ago. I update my list on my mac or on my iPhone. Then later when I access Todoist, the changes are lost. Sometimes they are completely lost I'm back to a couple iterations past version of my to do lists. Other times some newer tasks or changes I've entered are intact and at the same time odd things show up from several days or a week or two past. For example, old deadlines that I changed are back in place. Items I have added are gone. Obviously I need to rely on Todoist to remember changes I enter.

Well, I suspect this could be reproduced by making some changes on macbook and then making other changes on iPhone then accessing mac again and seeing what in in sync. Often the sync works but it's failed enough times that I'm starting to think Todoist won't work for me because I can't trust it to remember what I enter. It doesn't just go back to the version before the most recent changes. It goes back further in some ways and sometimes leaves more recent changes intact.

One idea I have is that perhaps it may have something to do with keeping a window on my mac open with todoist in it and then starting a new one later that day or the next, not recognizing that the other window is open. Perhaps Todoist can't tell what I've entered most recently somehow. Things get muddled. I can't say for sure if this has happened every time, but it could be a factor.

Have you signed out of each platform, cleared the cache for Safari (for the Mac App) and signed back in yet? Do they then all sync back up?

Does the website version hold the correct information?

I did as you suggested--signed out of each platform and cleared cache for Safari on Mac and signed back in. The lists are in sync. But, the information is not the most recent.

Last night I had no outstanding past due items. Now I have an odd combination of things that Todoist says were due 8 days ago, 7 days ago, etc… (not how I left it last night) AND also some of the things I added last night. But, some items I added last night have disappeared.

This is at least the 2nd time this has happened since I began using Todoist not too long ago. I'm possibly willing to give it one more try (try to reconstruct my lists) because I like the product very well---if it works! Right now I'm disoriented because my lists are disrupted, partially lost, and are disorganized.

Do you have advice for me on how to keep this from happening again? Can you help me recover to the spot I was last night or this morning?

Thank you!

Same Problem by using Windows-PC with IE and iPad / iPhone. On iPhone/iPad the Dodate is ok. But on the PC over night some Tasks have a date in the past and a sync don´t repair this. After Setting a new date (on iOS or PC) it is repaired.

This should not happen in the first place, and we have it built in such a way where it shouldn't even be possible.

Please try to completely remove the desktop apps, clear any cache (CCleaner for Windows) (App Cleaner for Mac, if using Mac App) and clear cache and offline data for browsers (offline data being important). Then re-install them, and re-download the installer as well to make sure.

That being said, you have checked the Web version as well to see if the information there is correct?

I am talking to both of you, but pretty much the same point to both :)
