Assign Email Tasks to another user

I assign an email as a task on Todoist. This works fine. but when I try to assign that task to another worker, they are unable to see the email without logging into my email account. Is there any way around this?

Hi James,

The email link that you have for tasks are only accessible if you're logged in into an account. One way to get around it is to paste the actual message in notes. Unfortunately, gmail does not have such option to allow another user access your mails without logging in.

Do you mean logged into a Gmail account? (or todoist account)

Thank you.

Hello James,

Clyde meant the Gmail account - when you link an email to a task, it's just a link that can only open the linked email if you have direct access to the Gmail account this mail is on.

As Clyde mentioned, you could copy/paste the text of the message into a note or, you could right-click on a project, go to "Email tasks to this project" and instead of linking to an email, forward the message to the project - this would convert the entire body of the message into a task note.

Best regards,
