Recurring Task Not Entering Correctly

Hello,
I'm entering in a task that needs to repeat every 2nd Friday starting tomorrow as follows:

"Pay XXX for Daycare every 2nd Friday starting tomorrow" however Todist enters it in starting on May 9th. I've tried entering it in a number of different ways, but it doesn't seem to be working. Is there another way to enter this so it sticks?

HI Damion,

I was able to reproduce the issue and I'll be reporting it to our developers. For the meantime, please use "every 2nd fri starting jun 1" as that seems to have worked.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,

Clyde

Just tried your suggestion, and it starts the task on June 13th; I'd
like it to start tomorrow, May 30th and repeat every other Friday.

Hi Damion,

Just to clarify, the "every 2nd Friday" falls on the following date (May 9, June 13, July 11 ... so on and so forth) and not on the 2nd Friday after you the due date of your task. When using the "starting on ... ", it looks for the next closest occurrence in this case, June 13.

To use a much simpler syntax, if we use "every sunday starting tomorrow", you will get a due date of June 1 and not May 31st because that's the closest Sunday. Hopes this clears it up. If you still have question, let me know.

Regards,

Clyde

Hello Damion,

To add to that, if you want a task that recurs every 2 weeks on Fridays, please use "every 14 days starting Friday" (or any other starting date you want).

Best regards,
David

Ok, so can you tell me how I can schedule a task that starts tomorrow,
and repeats every other Friday? That's what I'm trying to accomplish.

Damion,

As I've said, please use "every 14 days starting Friday" or "every 14 days starting tomorrow" or "every 2 weeks starting Friday".

Best regards,
David

Thanks David; if I enter it this way, will it still land only on every
other Friday even on months that don't have a full 31 days in them?

Damion,

If by "every other Friday", you mean every 2 weeks - on this Friday, then the one 2 weeks later, then the one 4 week later then yes - it doesn't look at how many Fridays there are, it will repeat exactly as the date says - every 14 days.

If that's not what you mean then please post a couple of dates you want the task to repeat on.

Best regards,
David

Ok, thank you; I just wanted clarification. I do want it to repeat
every other Friday, so this sounds like it will work. Maybe you could
consider making a syntax option of "every other XXXXX" and give choices
for days/weeks etc...

Will do. Thanks.
