Pebble Support?

Arguably the premiere smartwatch in the industry, the Pebble now has a dedicated, third-party app store.

Evernote has already released their companion Pebble app, supporting full checklist completion functionality.

It would be absolutely incredible to have even basic Todoist item completion support on the Pebble. Imagine targeting items on your "Grocery Shopping" project in Todoist without even needing to access your phone.

Please, make it happen! ;-D

There is a Pebble app available now. Not an official one, but it works.

Replied on Feb 02, 2015 - 08:57 UTC

Hi everybody, I'm the developper of the "not official" Pebble app. I made it because I find very cool to access our Todoist tasks on it. I'm surprised (and pleased) that someone already found it on the Store.
Here the link for everybody : https://apps.getpebble.com/applications/54ce42c994d00b0ebf0000c9

Feel free to contact me if you find a bug, or if you gave something to suggest.
I made the app on my free time so it the best app ever but I want it to be useful.

Hey Thomas,

Thanks for making the app - it works really well :)

Two suggestions:

1. Check boxes next to each task
2. Text able to move (like the Evernote Pebble app on iOS) so you can see the full text of the task.

All the best,

Replied on Feb 02, 2015 - 11:34 UTC

I can add checkboxes, but I didn't find a way to make the text move (I'm using the Pebble.JS api).
If I find a solution, I'll add the checkboxes.

Hello, Thomas! Thanks for your work.
I think it would be great to have "today view". It's the most important, to see today tasks on your watch, isn't it?

Replied on Feb 03, 2015 - 11:23 UTC

Well I don't really use this, but I'll add it to the features to add ;)
The SDK doesn't allow me to make long text scroll (the dev is on it but it might take time), I will display a the full text on the screen when you long click an item.

Sometimes it can also take times for the items to show.

Very cool--I hadn't seen this before! I just installed for the first time. The today view isn't working for me either. Note that I don't have any tasks on that list scheduled for today, but I do have overdue ones (hangs head in shame). Could that be causing a problem? Thanks for making this!

Replied on Feb 07, 2015 - 15:36 UTC

I'll try to add overdue to the view.

Replied on Feb 07, 2015 - 16:29 UTC

It's done in 1.2. If you still have problems with the today view, try to uninstall the app.

Cate Rowen
Replied on Feb 07, 2015 - 20:10 UTC

Wow thanks! I did update and reinstall (confirmed 1.2) and it still isn't
loading the today view. No theories this time, and it's very useful as it
is since I mostly use inbox for "next up" tasks rather than due dates.
Happy to test if it's helpful but I'm grateful to have it as is. :)

Replied on Feb 07, 2015 - 20:39 UTC

Well I don't know why it does that... :/ I'll investigate.
If one of you is willing to send me his API key by mail (my pseudo at gmail.com) maybe I'll find why it doesn't show anything.
Just to be sure : when you click on Today it does strictly nothing ? or does it display "no tasks" ? And on another project, does it works ?

Yes I have the same issue. I can drill down in a couple of project but cant in Today view and some others. Interesting if I come out the app and go back in I get "Loading....."

Then it seems to hang.

It would be fantastic if you can make it work.

Thank you

For me, the ability to "check-off" a task has stopped working as well. I click the center button on a task and nothing happens. I've tried unloading, deleting the app, reinstalling and still the same.

The "Today" view has never worked for me, either. I tried the link above with my token, and this is what the page shows:

[{"query": "today", "type": "date", "data": []}]

Replied on Feb 20, 2015 - 10:35 UTC

I'll look into the check-off, it doesn't work for me too.
But for the today view, i'm sorry I have no clue. It works for me... and it seems to work for other people too.

Matthew, could you try this link : (if it say bad request, replace & by &, or copy the link instead of clicking on it)
I forgot to add overdue tasks to the query.

If you haven o tasks, it should display "No Tasks today"... It's kinda like it didn't update.
I'll try to look into that.

Well if it's empty you should have no tasks in Todoist's Today View...
On the watch it should say "No tasks today" like I said.

What would be amazing would be if Pebble and Todoist could add a 'Send to Todoist' option to notifications?

I may be wrong, but this could bypass the restrictions of iOS, simply copy the notification text and send it to Todoist Inbox using 3rd party APIs and some fancy jiggery-pokery within the Pebble Time iOS app?

I am no expert, but this thought struck me earlier today.

PS Love the MyTodoist app.

That would indeed be handy. Also would love timeline integration w/ Pebble Time.

@NitroG42: Looking forward to the iOS update. Maybe we can crowdfund you to build out some more features? ;)

Replied on Jun 16, 2015 - 08:18 UTC

Well I'll add features anyway ! I'm working on the Time version but I need to adapt my app to the new Todoist V6 api first.

I'll probably add a flattr button for people that are willing to support me but I don't wanna do crowdfunding (I have a full time job and don't have time to make a kickstarter).

For the notification part, developpers can't add entries in the notification menu, so it probably won't be possible for now.

Is the today view working for the iOS user now ?

App working without problems on iOS, incl. today view.

Looks like this weekend was the “Pebble meets Todoist” weekend. There’s a new kid on the block at the Pebble store called “Todoist Mini”. And I was playing around too and build an initial version of “todoWRist” (see what I did there? ;)). I didn’t release it yet, because I actually didn’t plan to do so. But let me test it for a week or so and we can talk again, if anyone is interested.

Emil, I'm glad you keep asking.

To be honest, I didn't have any time to work on it. I’ve been pretty busy with client work, and I took a week vacation. I’ll have to get my hands on an iPhone too, because when a friend tested it, the app didn’t update. And: I found myself not using the app as much as I thought I’d be. It’s nice to go shopping with it, because you won’t forget to bring eggs, but most times I need my tasks I’m near my phone or desktop/notebook anyway. Which means, it’s not on my top priorities right now.

There are two apps now at the Pebble store, Todoist Mini and MyTodoist – while first one seems to be under steady development. Please use one of them for now.

Btw Fabian, I agree with your previous post, I dropped the dev a bit too because I didn't have a lot of free time and I wasn't using Todoist that much lately.
But I think Timeline integration can make this app more useful than previously (as a reminder on the timeline, because using an entry in a calendar is a bit weird for that).
I had a question for you, did you made an app using the C sdk or in Pebble.js ?
