You get points by doing any of the following activities:

- adding tasks
- completing tasks
- using advance features
- using the Todoist support or vote sections

If you have overdue tasks that are more than four days old, that would decrease your Karma points. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list but hopefully this will you an idea of how your Karma points are being calculated.

Hi Clyde,

is there any documentation how much points I win or lose for which activity?

I think it is not much transparent, for which activity I get points.

And further it should be most important to get points for finishing tasks and for reaching the daily and weekly levels less for using advanced features.

In other words I don't want to get to the next karma level by using advanced features like moving tasks to the next day :-)

And also I think users should get more karma points if they reach higher daily and weekly levels than lower.

And last but not least I want to tell to all the makers of todoist, that it is a great tool!!

Hello Jörg,

Thank you very much for your feedback :-)

We haven't and are not planning to publish the details about how many points for which activity and on which level you earn in order to maintain the Karma system's element of surprise and prevent deliberate attempts of doing only certain actions in order to maximize the achieved score ;-)
