On my work PC, if I close the Todoist app, I can't get it to restart without doing a full shutdown or restart of the computer. I am running version 2.6.4 of the windows app.
If you click on the "X" icon to close it, it will run in the notifications area (system tray). Please find the red TD icon in the tray (bottom-right corner, next to the clock icon) and you can bring it back by double-clicking on it or by using Ctrl+Alt+T.
If you right-click on the tray icon, you can go to "Configurations" and choose to completely quit the app upon closing and not hide it in the tray, if you'd like, but this will disable the global keyboard shortcuts.
Hi David - That is a big help. I can use the program this way. It might be helpful to explain how I was trying to do things for future development.
I had pinned Todoist to my taskbar in Win 7 so that the icon shows all the time and is highlighted when running. When you click the X to "close" Todoist, the taskbar icon goes un-highlighted as if the program were not running. Then I would click that taskbar icon to "restart" the program and nothing would happen.
I'm thrilled to know how to restart it now so I'm good and maybe my situation will be helpful if you want to enhance the UI to include the taskbar icon 'restart' in the future.
I am with Eric on that one. Its how I expect a Program to run... but its not a major issue.
