Workaround for project search

Hi guys

As we all know, for some reason Todoist does not offer a very obvious feature of searching projects. So I'd like to ask if there are any useful workarounds as I am tired of having to double-tag every action.

My project structure is like this:

* Project 1
** Sub-project 1
* Project 2
* Project 3
* Project 1
** Sub-project 1
* Project 2
* Project 3

When I am at work, I don't want to look at personal actions. When I am at home, I don't want to look at work actions.

Currently, I place each action in the appropriate folder in the structure above, AND I assign a tag of "work" or "personal". This last step is just a waste of time, but it seems necessary if I only want to look at personal or work tasks in Todoist.

Are there any workarounds or do I really have to consider switching systems because of this one (Very important) missing feature?

Thanks guys!

Yes i need a workarround or the search function also.

That's the same workaround I use, essentially. I haven't found a better one at this point, but it is annoying.

If you only use x2 classes of project, Work and Personal, then there's half a work round:
Only tag one of the classes. I only tag tasks for Personal projects (for me I have far less of these) then I create a search term: !@personal which is my Work search, i.e. it searches all items NOT tagged personal, which for me = Work.

Still a lot of bother - but half as much bother as tagging everything.

David Trey included new syntax for project search in this thread: http://todoist.com/Support/show/31049/ --
