Problem with time zone

I traveled to a different time zone this past weekend. I accepted the prompt that Todoist gave me when I arrived there. It was an hour behind my home time zone, which is Central.

Now that I'm back to my home time zone, I accepted the additional prompt to change it again, but it didn't stick. I seem to recall that it asked me this twice. Then I noticed the reminder times are behind an hour when comparing the same tasks to my view on my computer.

I even went into the app's settings and manually selected the correct time zone, but it's still showing an hour behind the correct time.

What am I missing to resolve this?

I'm using Android version 4.4.2.

Hi,

You have checked your phones settings, your desktops settings and Todoist.com's settings, and they are all the same timezone?

Regards,
Brendon.

My phone is set to automatically change time zones. Just underneath that part in Settings it says "GMT -05:00, Central Daylight Time."

The Todoist app is set to US/Central.

I didn't bring my laptop with me when I traveled, so it didn't change.

Hi,

I'd suggest logging out of each location, clearing the data for the Android app, and clearing the cache for your browser of choice.

Regards,
Brendon.

Whenever I fly to a new timezone, it changes to new timezone, but it adds the time to each of the tasks and when I check them done, it just greys them out instead of hiding them. This continues when I return, until I reset the timezone in the setting to the original.

Hi, I have a similar if not the same problem.

After login in and out I got my tasks synchronized in the right time in iCal, but in the task details inside iCal on my iPad and iPhone the tasks have two times, it says

"Meeting with J
Wednesday, Feb 18, 2015 10am to 11am
3pm to 4pm (GMT)"

I am not interested in knowing the GMT time. It makes it confusing when I look at the calendar and I have a task at 2pm that says it is at 7pm...

In my iMac everything looks perfect.

Any suggestion?

Hi @Lola and @j.m.hawkins86,

Sorry to hear your are having trouble with this! Have you already checked your time zone settings in your Todoist account (across all the platforms), mobile devices, computers and iCaledar? Are they exactly the same?

Regards,
Galina

HI Galina,

All my devices have the same time zone. I logged out and in in all of them and still the problem is there.

Here I attach screenshots of the iCal showing double times for the task in iPhone and iPad

Hi @Lola and @j.m.hawkins86,

Can you please attach a screenshot of the timezone setting of your devices? That might help us figure out why we're still experiencing the issue.

Please note that we need to take a look at the device's timezone setting and not Todoist's.

Really sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,
Clyde

these are screen shots of the Todoist Android app settings and of my device time and date settings. Is this what you are after?

Hi,

The first screenshot is what I'm looking for. Are you using Todoist in a computer? If you are, can you please take a screenshot of the timezone setting for that device as well?

Also, are you currently traveling right now?

Clyde

Hi,

It looks like I might have found the problem. Your phone is set to GMT+13:00 while your computer is set to UTC+12:00. Can you please update your computer so it matches your phone?

Best Regards,
Clyde

Hi,

In that case, can you try changing it to UTC +13:00? After which, please try doing some test afterwards to see if it worked.

Clyde

Hi iMac,

The timezone setting in your iMac seems to be set on Granger, IN while your iOS devices are set on Detroit. Can you please try manually setting your iMac to Detroit and see if that helps?

Really sorry for the inconvenience.

Clyde

Hi

Ok I changed it.
The tasks in my iCal in iMac look perfect.

It is in the iPhone and iPad that they sat the GMT timezone (even when they ARE in EST).

I used to have the same problem. It turns out that is because the time zone of IFTTT is not correct.
