How can I create a filter that shows all tasks which are currently not assigned to anyone?
Please use this query:
!:to_others: & !:to_me:
It will exclude tasks you've assigned to others and ones assigned to you.
Alternatively, you could just use :to_me: to show all tasks that are either unassigned or assigned to you.
Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for.
Would be nice to see documentation for this on the filter help page, though. I'm sure there are many folks who would find it useful to know the 'bang' character is supported and works about like one would expect it to. It would also decrease the amount of people who have to contact support (like me) to find out. I'm surprised actually, that this is not a default filter. It's very useful for finding projects that need owners.
Here's a link that exactly does that https://todoist.com/Help/Filtering :-)
Hey, the filter recommended above works great on web. However, on android
the 'bang' is lost somehow. Check out screenshots.[image: Inline image

Thank you for your report, I've passed it to the developers now.
Actually :to_me: shows only tasks assigned to me, so how can i show tasks assigned to me and unassigned?
Try using "(:to me:), (!:to others:)" and see if gives you the task that you're looking for.
It did. Thank you. However, there is a title in the middle of the list shown below:
-Assigned to others
that I don't undertand the relevance because underneath it I can find tasks assigned to me as well.
