HIDE Completed Tasks for sub level and parent tasks

Is there any way to HIDE completed tasks in a project? I wouldve assumed this would have happened by default, but the sub-level and sub-sub-level tasks still show.

We do not want to DELETE the completed tasks, we just dont want to see them all populating in our visual.

See screenshot for reference

Sub-tasks will always stay on screen. This is until the parent task is completed, then they will disappear from your list.

I would really like it if I could hide completed tasks from a project, but still be able to find them for my records.

Hi Jim,

As mentioned by Brendon, sub-tasks don't disappear until the parent task is completed. As for the viewing completed tasks, each project should have a "Show completed task" option in the lower right corner of the last task. :-)

Yes, I know. I am asking for a feature enhancement.
I could see how having sub-tasks stick around might be useful, but I think hiding them would be a more common use case.

Agreed - being able to hide completed sub-tasks would be great. This is especially useful if you are using ToDoist for business and have a project thread and only want to see the outstanding tasks but still want to track completed tasks.

Hello Anca,

If you hold the SHIFT key while completing a sub-task, it will no longer be visible in any view, but you will be able to find it on the completed tasks list either if you enter a project and click on the circular icon at the bottom or go to Karma -> View All Completed.

I find it hard to believe that this feature hasn't been implemented yet. No one wants to see a dozen completed tasks, regardless if they are subtasks or parent tasks. It just clutters the screen. Seems like a no-brainer for an program that is exclusively made for managing tasks. Even the most basic task apps for phones are able to hide tasks / subtasks.

Staff - please let us know when the ability to hide completed tasks at any level will be enabled. Thanks.

Hello Marina,

We currently seem to receive more requests from users wanting to see all completed tasks in all views permanently until they manually choose to remove them ;-) We're currently not working on changing this in either way, but we will consider implementing a solution in the future, but given the opposite requests, only as a option.

Hi David,

Thanks for the response. I see that I can hold Shift as I mark a task as
complete to move it to a completed list so that I don¹t have to see it. That
will be an okay workaroundŠat least there is that option!!

Feature Request:

I'd like to hide completed subtasks, too.
There should be an option to do so, project-related.
Would be great.

Thanks for the good work!

I would also like to hide the completed subtasks.

I was just about to post for this as the completed subtasks were taking up a sizable chunk of a homescreen widget. Thanks for the SHIFT key tip, an option to actually hide them would be swell though!
