Can I create a completed tasks filter? If so how do I do it? I would also like to create a filter that would show completed tasks for the Day and the last 5 days.
There are no filters for completed tasks. You can click on the X Completed (or Karma Score) at the very top right, then View All Completed, and that is able to be sorted a few different ways.
This would be a very useful feature. I often track goals through daily tasks. A common thing I want to do is to see how many days I achieved a certain goal. I would love to be able to create a filter that shows completed tasks over the last 30 days with a certain tag and task name. It is a very useful method for tracking progress on goals.
I too would like to be able to go back and check completed tasks - sometimes info contained in completed tasks would be handy to go back to i.e. a phone number I had in the task but nowhere else....
Any upcoming upgrades?
Speaking of upgrades - I paid for the premium upgrade but have not seen any changes in what I can or cannot do. Is there something special I need to download - just assumed premium upgrade would be accessible after you got my payment....
Please note that you can access your completed tasks anytime - either inside a project after clicking on the circular icon at the bottom or through the whole completed task list for any day after clicking on Karma -> View All Completed at the top.
As for Premium feature, please make sure to log out and back into your account to see the changes. If you can use the "Labels" or "Filters" section or the "View All Completed" list or add task notes - these are all Premium features.
Todoist Team: I want to add to the various discussions on this topic that being able to 1) build custom filters with 'completed' as one of the parameters AND 2) change the status of 'completed' tasks is very important to me - both on the browser AND on the android app.
1)Surely 'completed' is just one more parameter in the database? why can't this be added in as an additional filter option? I don't want to bring up hundreds of completed items to review, just the pertinent ones.
2)An example of why I would like to be able to toggle on/off the 'completed' status: there's numerous tasks that I do irregularly; they aren't scheduled repetitive tasks, so I can't set them up to repeat, that wouldn't make sense - but when I need to add it to my todo list, being able to find it (usually on my android device) and remove the 'completed' status would be a great time saver.
If we were to add filters for completed tasks, it would mean that our whole team (web, iOS, Android) have to work on it. We get a lot of feature requests that are considered by some as essential and also simple to add. Even if we do decide to add all of them, some features are just not going to be worked on first. With that said though, we'll look into adding more filter support in the future.
As for a toggle on/off, we'll consider adding it as well. Have you tried using sub-tasks for this? It's a good way to keep track of which task you've completed already.
We really appreciate your feedback as this gives us an insight on how we can improve Todoist so keep them coming. :-)
I'll add my vote to including "completed" as a parameter to use when filtering. I'd like to generate a report of how fast I'm moving (a la Scrum), and without the ability to filter by that label, it's hard to see estimate that.
To be up front, the hope of filtering that material is the reason I went with the subscription. I'm hoping other features give reason to keep me.
Any ways you can think of working around this? Are completed items searchable, perhaps? Maybe I can add something to the title and then search for that unique string of letters/numbers?
Completed tasks should be searchable by keywords. For example, if you type something like "pizza" (or q:pizza) in the search box, you can find all completed tasks that include that word :-)
I miss one function of completed tasks under the project.
Time of completion of the tasks (like has e.g. Wunderlist).

It's already available :-) To access it, click on the Karma score at the top, then "View all" and use the drop-down menu at the top to select one project. You'll see a fill list of tasks you've completed in this project sorted by date with the exact time of completion.
