how to add sub-tasks within Today view

In the Today view of tasks, how do I efficiently add subtasks to existing tasks?

For example, I have a top level task of Server Setup with subtasks like: create user accounts, create user groups, apply ntfs permissions, etc.

I've completed 5 of my 10 tasks for this top level task that shows up in my Today view... and realize, I need to add 3 more sub-tasks.

The only way I see is to move to a new context... there's no way to jump to the project, or directly to the parent task... so, must I manually navigate to find project, then manually look for task, then add task, then move it to the parent task?

Then go back to my previous context? oh... forgot, another task, so repeat all those steps?

Hoping you have a quick and easy way like "add-subtask" menu option?

Finding it very tedious and error prone... the only way I'm getting through my tasks this morning is to keep another window open to make notes of what i need to come back and do in todoist... eg, a Todoist for todoist.

thank you,

Hello Stephen,

Because it's very error-prone to add sub-tasks on the today list, we didn't implement such option - to create sub-task structures, please enter the project first,

Now, this can be done very quickly simply by clicking on the project name on the right side of the related task (on the today) list. This will not only show you the project, but also highlight the related task, next to which you've clicked on the project name. From there, you can right-click on it and choose "Add task below".

Best regards,
