Where are the data stored?

I wonder where are tasks data etc. physically stored. Since TD creates its own tasks (not in fact integrating with outlook ones) where it is all stored?
Is there a way where my company could host its own server to keep the data, so they don't leave intranet?

Hello Peter,

All data is stored securely on one of the world's biggest and most trusted hosts - Amazon Web Services.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to host Todoist as a local installation with a local database.

I am trying to convince my employer and they have a similar concern/query. Do you have any information that I can refer them to when it comes to data security?

Hi Derrick,

Here's a summary of information for data security.

- the data is stored on our hosting provider: Amazon Web Services. For more detailed information about AWS' security please visit this page: http://aws.amazon.com/security/
- we use a 256-bit SSL key
- we are hashing your passwords and using an unique salt. For hashing we are currently using sha1, but we may change to bcrypt soon.

We have a strict privacy policy and never access or pass any of the user data. Let me know if you have a specific question that has not been addressed here.
