Outlook shows chinese characters in taskbar - why?

I just installed the Outlook plugin and added 3 Tasks to test Todoist... up to now everything seems to work incl. the sync with my iPhone. Anyhow, even as the Outlook plugin is in German (as selected in the web settings) Outlook shows chinese characters in taskbar - and only there... no chinese characters in Outlook itself, only in the Windows taskbar. Why is this and how can I turn that off?

Hello Daniel,

Please try to log out from Todoist in Outlook (gear icon at the top, it will be the menu option at the bottom of this drop-down) and on the login page, you should see a language link which you can use to select German from the list.

If it's Chinese, the link will say either:
- 中文 (繁體) for Traditional Chinese or
- 中文 (简体) for Simplified Chinese.

Best regards,

Hello David,

I've done as you said... logged out from Todoist in Outlook, checked the log-in page - but it already is set to German - and logged in again... no change... in the Windows taskbar there are still chinese characters... and I don't know if there are traditional or simplified... if you give me the Option to send you a screenshot, then I can Show you... anyhow, the Problem is sadly not solved :(

Any other suggestions?

Please log in on the web at todoist.com click on the gear at the top, go to Settings and check if it's set to German there as well.

As for the Windows app, please right-click on the TD icon in the tray and use the "Reload" and "Sync" options and see if it helps.

You're welcome to send a screenshot to david@doist.io and brendon@doist.io - please include the URL of this thread in the mail, for reference.

Best regards,
