iCal refresh time / Todoist tasks not appearing in calendar

Hi there,

I imported the iCal link in Google Calendar, but not all my tasks are there. How often does the calendar update itself? I'm using a calendar to see my daily tasks and schedule and integration with the calendar was a top reason for purchasing Todoist.

Am I doing anything wrong? How do I get it to also show the tasks in the calendar feed?

Hello Radu,

Our iCal feed is updated live and you would see the changes instantly if you would use any other calendar software than Google's Calendar. Unfortunately, Google have set their servers to update such feeds only once a day :-(

Furthermore, you will only see tasks in your calendar that have a due date in Todoist.

Hi David,

I've just imported it in the Calendar app on my Mac and set it to refresh every 5 minutes. Hope it works.

Thanks for the help,

The Mac Calendar app works fine. You can import the URL from File -> New Calendar Subscription.

What URL should I paste in the New Calendar Subscription field?

Hi Michael,

You follow the steps below to get the URL that you need.

1. Click the gear icon on the upper right corner
2. Select "Todoist Settings"
3. At the bottom, you should find the URL (see screenshot below for example)

i've just 'imported' my todoist tasks into google calendar but none of the tasks are appearing there. i see the todoist calendar listed under 'other calendars' but none of my tasks appear on the calendar itself.

Hello Ebony,

Please tell me - do you have any tasks with a due date in Todoist? Also, does unsubscribing from the calendar (My calendars -> Settings) and re-adding the Todoist iCal feed, but without waiting for it to sync (closing the browser and accessing the calendar a few minutes later) make any difference?

Best regards,

actually, i just found a note in another thread about shutting the calendar down when it starts importing and that seems to have worked ... i'm now seeing my tasks. thanks!

would this issue be resolved with powerapp?

Yes, Todoist PowerApp will offer almost real-time updates for the Google Calendar integration (that is - up to every 15 minutes).
