Reschedule one instance of a recurring event
Is it possible to move the date of one instance of a recurring event, without changing the other instances?
For example, I have a recurring event to approve my direct reports' timecards every other Friday. However, on some holiday weeks, timecards will be due on Thursday rather than Friday. During those weeks, I would like to be able to move the "approve timecard" appointment from Friday to Thursday, but without changing all of the future instances from Friday to Thursday as well.
Do Todoist support this kind of update? If so, how would I do it?
Yes. All you need to do is right click on your task, and you will see icons for changing dates. If you select Today, it will be due Today but the next occurrence will be back to the original date.
Now if you need to change a date like yours, you can click on the ... more option, and choose the date. Once it's completed it will move back to the original occurrence.
Cool - thanks. I'll give it a try.
Hi. This didn't work - I moved my date from Friday to Thursday for this week, and now that it's been completed, when I look ahead in the schedule the next occurrence (2 weeks from now) has moved to Thursday as well.
I set up the recurrence as "ev 2 weeks starting 2/14". I tried "ev 2nd friday", but that seems to mean the 2nd Friday of each month (and when I rescheduled it for a Thursday this month, it moved future instances to Thursday as well). "Every other Friday" isn't recognized. "every 14 days" has the same problems that "every 2 weeks" had.
Is this a syntax issue? How do I need to set up the recurrence to force this to happen only on Friday but still allow me to manually reschedule some instances without screwing up all of the future ones?
Thank you for your report, I've passed it to the developers and we'll look into it.
