Bug in iOS 7.0/iPhone filtering

D

Hi guys
I have a problem to get filters to work properly on my iPhone. Maybe someone can help out.

So, I have created this filter:

@work & (overdue, today)

On Todoist web and on the Windows 8 app, the filter works correctly. Shows all overdue and today tasks with @work label. However, on my iPhone the filter shows overdue and today tasks from ALL labels.

I have tried with lot of different labels, moving around the syntax, etc. No matter what I do, this filter won't work on my iPhone.

Any ideas?

/Dan

Hello David,

I am new to Todoist and very happy with the app so far.
I note however that the "filter feature not working with Iphone" is a recurrent topic.
I do certainly ignore how difficult / easy it is to fix but I would really appreciate to know by when do you intend to have that solved?

Thank you very much!

I use filters just like this. I ran into the same issue so I set them up differently. I now use (@work & overdue) | (@work & today) and it works on mobile and desktop. But sadly, the mobile stuff still labels incorrectly, though all the right tasks are there. The little headers are just really screwed up.

Hello David,

I am having the same issue with the IOS App and the Android App.
Your last post was written almost one year ago.
Is this something TODOIST staff is really working on?
Or did I miss a statement that this function is actually unavailable for hand held devices?

Thank you & best regards,
Guillaume

Hi Guillaume,

Can you please give me the exact filter that you're having a problem with? I may be able to give you some alternatives that would work in the iOS and Android app.

And yes, our iOS and Android developers are working on improving our filters features in our mobile apps. :-)

Regards,
Clyde

Hello Clyde,

Thank you for your prompt answer! I am using two labels for "call" and "email" and I use those filters (on line only...) to list all the emails or all the calls I have to do today...

(auj, retard) & @call
(auj, retard) & @email

I am looking forward to reading your advices!

Thank you & best regards,
Guillaume

Hi Guillaume,

Can you please try using the following filers below? Let me know if it still doesn't work.

(auj & @call ) | (retard & & @call)
(auj & @email ) | (retard & & @email)

Clyde

Hello Clyde,

No luck! It still does not work, neither with IOS nor with Android.

FYI, looks like the system automatically corrects the syntax and suppresses one of the two repeated ampersands.

Thank you & best regards,
Guillaume

Hello Guillaume,

Please try either:

auj & @call, retard & @call

or

@call & auj, @call & retard

and let us know if either of these filters work.

David

Hello David,

I wish I had better news but no changes, it still shows the tasks on line but nothing on the handheld devices...

Thank you & best regards,
Guillaume

Hello,

I have another filter which works well on IOS and Android : (retard, today) & priority 1. Looks like it does not work when introducing a label?

Thank you & best regards,
Guillaume

Guillaume,

Just to clarify (because you've mentioned "retard, today") - is your phone and Todoist set to French or English? And are you always using the same language in filters consistently?

Also, does a fully English filter such as:

today & @call, overdue & @call

work?

David

Thank you so much! It now works, looks like it was indeed due to a mix between French and English from one device to the other...

Thank you for your prompt and efficient support!

Best regards,
Guillaume
