Accidental completion by swiping results in large annoyance - I propose several possible fixes.

Would it be possible to disable the feature that completes tasks when they are swiped from left to right or right to left. When on mobile, I sometimes accidentally complete a task, and the undo button quickly disappears. Since there is absolutely NO way to find a completed task on mobile, I can't get it back. If I touched the screen accidentally while not looking and completed the task, this results in a nightmare because I can't even re-add the task. This means I have to immediately find that task and add it again, otherwise I might forget (the whole point of a list is not to have to rely on memory). So I have to quickly find a computer, log into the web version, and find out what that task was using the "completed" list. This is a huge annoyance and I do not think there is currently any way to solve this other than the process I described! Therefore, could you please make task completion by swiping optional? Or you could make the undo button appear for longer, and allow multiple undos? Currently it disappears as soon as I scroll the list, and I can only undo the last completion action.

Hi Thomas,

We will consider allowing that an option in future updates, but we are also planning on adding Completed items on mobile as well.

Dear Brendon,

Please consider again making this an option as soon as possible. I temporarily lost a task today because of this, it resulted in a considerable hassle. As proposed above, there are several easy ways to fix this.

Dear Brendon,

May I again ask that you make the 'swipe to complete' feature optional? It's very annoying.

I too have lost tasks while accidentally swiping.

As an alternative to eliminating the swipe to complete gesture, I would like to see it only function when swiping right-to-left. Then I would no longer accidentally mark an item complete when what I meant to do was swipe from the left to open the menu. This is how the iOS version of the Todoist app works.

This "bug" is driving me crazy. I guess it depends on what phone you are using, but often when I'm swiping from left to right to see the hidden menu on the left side, I accidentally swipe a task to complete. Then I have to go to my inbox and activate show completed tasks and try to figure out what task to recover. It's really frustrating. There should be some kind of "undo" button showing right after you've completed a task.

Also, this is mostly happening when a task is selected, then the left menu is deactivated so whenever you try to swipe back the menu you will most likely swipe a task to complete.

BTW, I'm running Version 8.0.3 (Android5.0.2)

D1995ms, I think you're going to be waiting a while for the Todoist team to make any of the swiping stuff optional (if they ever do), but as a workaround to a part of your issue, you can just tap the "hamburger" button (the 3 horizontal bars) in the very top left of the app to pop out the hidden menu, instead of trying to swipe left to right to bring it up. This will guarantee you don't accidentally complete a task in that one case, at least.
