TD Add task button doesnt appear on gmail toolbar in vertical split

The button that appears at the top of an opened email next to Labels and More doesn't appear when using split panes in GMail. How can I address this or is this an issue that TD must fix? I only use email in vertical split and so it limits the features of TD that I can use.

Hi Russel,

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do at this time. That Preview Pane labs feature breaks the email ID which our plugin requires to work. We are trying to find another solution, but that is how it works. We are hoping that Google (whomever created the lab feature) will eventually change how it works, so it does not change the ID.

Any.do's plugin works with the Preview Pane Labs. I would give them a call. :)

Evernote's web clipper also seems to work with the Preview Pane lab as well. Although theirs seems to fail when I combine Boomerang with Preview Pane. How about if user id's the thread by checking the threads checkbox?

I'm surprised this isn't given more priority. A major drawback.

Couldn't you grab the ID of the mail from a element in the DOM? I'm sure there is a reference somewhere.

The latest version of the Chrome Todoist Gmail extension should now work with Preview Pane. To get the latest version, uninstall the current version and reinstall it here: http://todoist.com/gmail

Hey Clyde

Now luck even with the new version. Where should the button appear? Same place as in the non-splitted version? Can't see it. I only have the native Gmail add task option in the "more" dropdown.

Hi René,

Please see the screenshot to see where it should show up. Also, try adding the following as an exception in Chrome:

Hi Clyde, still no luck, even with the exceptions added.

Available in the default view (as shown in your screenshot btw.), but not in the split view.
Is somebody else able to to use it in the split view?

Hi René,

Sorry for the confusion. As it turns out, we don't get the "Add TD" button when preview pane is enabled. What we can do though is have Todoist window open so you can click on the "Add email as task" link.

I would like to +1 the desire to have the "Add TD" button.

This is so annoying! Why is it not possible to simply add that button? This issue is of high prio!

This is the only reason why I use Any.Do in preference to ToDoist.
