Moving a task to another project

M

Hi

When trying to move a task from one project to another, certain tasks do not offer a project list from which to select. Why is this?

Thanks

Max

Hello Max,

Please tell me - is there any pattern that you can recognize based on which task don't show this list? For example - are they all sub-tasks, do they all have a certain label, are they all added from emails? Anything that could point to a common factor would be very helpful.

Best regards,
David

Hi David

No obvious pattern. It may depend on cursor location prior to pulling the menu down

David,

The email link is not bringing back to your Producteev comment.

So what did you do versus what Producteev did? I think the functional spec of what I'm requesting is straight-forward: Once I move an email from Outlook or Gmail to Todoist, I would like to be able to access that email plus its attachments from Todoist from whatever platform I happen to be on at the time: my PC, my iPad etc.

This is complicated because of course my iPad does not run Outlook (unless I use 365 which I don't). However Evernote offer the facility via their "Clipper" but the product lacks the option of structured fields. If you offered this, you could then become a universal queue for tasks and emails (and eventually text messages etc as well).

Right now, I use:

1. Toodledo for repeating reminders (because it allows me in one shot to mark all of yesterday's repeating tasks as completed automatically which Todoist as yet does not)

2. Evernote for reference materials and documents

3. Todoist for non-repeating items such as project management.

It would be great to cut this list down to 1 or 2 tools (ideally 1 obviously).

All the best

Max

Hello Alexander,

Please let us know how can you reproduce this issue step-by-step as so far, we can't trigger it at all.

Best regards,
David

In Windows, I'm having trouble as well. I have tasks in the inbox that I want to move to a project. I click on the three dots and then select Move to another project and the drop down menu appears but it is empty. This has worked before.

Interesting, before sending this, I tried a reload. Once I did that then the drop down menu was populated and it worked. FWIW
