Outlook plugin flagged as malicious by Chrome

I was about to install the Outlook plugin when Chrome flagged the download, which came directly from your website, as potentially malicious. Would appreciate your input before I install this program on my work computer.

Hello Stuart,

We can assure you that it's not malicious. The only reason why it might have been flagged is the fact that it is basically a frame containing an Internet Explorer window that connects to the Todoist site from within Outlook (and software that connects from within another software is in general not liked by anti-virus software).

Also - in order to use the "Add email as task" feature, the plugin must be aware of what element (message) you've selected to see its unique ID (so that it can link to it if you want it to be a task). This, too, can make it look like malware, but again - we can assure you that our plugin is not malicious.

Furthermore, we will soon release an update for it that will port it away from IE and use a different better browser engine to connect and we hope that will stop it from being flagged if it won't utilize IE's engine.

Best regards,

Stuart Bevan
